Newcomer / Intro few newbie questions. or not :)

hello everyone

1. does my gameplay at solo counts towards status increase? (comba, explo, trade) i tryed my google freind with no answer :(

2. how do i locate my mercenery edition Eagle ship?

3. this is a little off topic but i wanted to ask about an encounter i had. i came into USS and scanned a ship to see its wanted, in the USS there was also a federal ship. i engaged the wanted and for some reason the federal became hostile and told me im wanted. now, to exclude some responses ill mention ididnt hit the federal ship by mistake or on purpose, and i had no crimes or stolen goods.
i had mnay such encounters and the federal ship always sits back or even help , im clueless why this one was different.

ty in advance for any replies.

1 . Yes what you do counts

2. Go to a station with a shipyard and look to the three tabs on the right hand side . The far right one will have the location of the system your Eagle is located. Fly there and search the stations and youll find it.

3. Its possible the NPC was wanted in another system and it was not in the system you found it . Have you got a warrent scanner to check where it was wanted ?

If you look at the system map for the system containing your ship the station your ship is stored at will have a blue ship icon next to it.

Ah right didnt realise they had put that in tbf . Found my ship in gama and sold it for the cash lol.

This is a little nuanced. First off, as you may have noticed, the "wanted" status only means that they're wanted in the local system, so a ship may be "clean" but be wanted elsewhere. This is why every ship in an anarchy is "clean", because there's no local authority to report crimes to.

Now, this ship was showing "wanted", so why did the Feds attack you? They were wanted in the local system, so surely the mighty Federation would be glad that you're hunting him down. What likely happened here was that the wanted ship belonged to the same faction as the security ship. Remember, the Feds are the major faction, but local security is handled by the local faction. The local faction may be Federation aligned, but they will overlook bounties on their own members. What probably happened is that you started to attack the ship, the security ship noticed that you were attacking a ship belonging to the same faction, and joined in the fight. Kind of a "he may be criminal scum, but he's our criminal scum" situation. Their faction loyalty trumps their other consideration. Summary: some systems have crooked cops.

Another possibility, less likely in this case, is that the ship was wanted but it was still against the local laws to attack first. This is often the case with bounty hunting: the target is a desperate criminal, with the death penalty in twelve systems, but hasn't committed enough crimes here for it to be legal for you to open fire. In which case, again, the security forces will step in.

The best option when the police are around is to wait until the criminal starts shooting you, or the police start shooting him. Otherwise wait, if the police jump out then feel free to start shooting.
