Finally made it to Beagle Point

Started from Colonia - and I wasn't actually intending to get this far. I just started off to bag some more biological data, and somehow kept going. Anyway. After 685 jumps my trusty Krait Phantom 'Moana' and I have made it to Beagle Point.
Achievement Unlocked!

(probably going to hitch a ride home on a fleet carrier though...)

Back in 3301/2, it was very lonely out there. You'd just done 65k, with no hope of any repairs from anyone, and you had the same to come back after you paid your dues. No Colonial either.

And limited jump range, making crossing the Abyss difficult.

You youngsters have it too easy!

I know right? I just stowed away on @The Lawful 's Paul Vernon Memorial Tour for my first trip and just basically hit on the bartender through most of the journey lol

But then, she's Piper Stevens after all, and none of us ever had her smile at us even! Plus, we not only made it to Colonia, but to Ishum's Reach, the most remote system there is. 40ky ly beyond Colonia and the Core, but it was worth every minute of tedious jumping ;)

This is from several years ago in Horizons when I was last out there. I remember I sat there and stared into the dark for almost an hour. Kamitra cigar and Lavian Brandy in hand. Top 10 best moment in game.

DW1 was before my time, but I was there for DW2 and then again for the DSSA deployment right after carriers launched. I, too, plan to make it back on my own two feet...maybe when server death is imminent. Seems like a good place to go.
