My favorite rum?
Depends on mood.

Flor de Caña is a nice starter rum (Nicaragua).

Ron Millonario is really good - from Peru btw, good rum doesn't have to come from the Caribbean.

Ron Zacapa Centenario Etiqueta Negra is very good (Guatemala).

There are other good rums that have their own character. Just don't use a good rum to mix and don't drink too much of it - a small glass and enjoying the taste is much better than getting drunk.
