Galaxy-wide fine I can't pay off!
OK, hope someone can help me out here...
Just launched from a station (note: clean record), got a short way out - and the station's defenses just suddenly opened up on me without warning! The WANTED banner flashed up, and I boosted out before the orbiting ships could shoot me out of the sky.
My Status shows I have a Galaxy-wide bounty of CR200 on me - BUT...according to EVERYWHERE I dock at I DON'T have a criminal record! At All! So, as such, I can't pay the debt off and as a result every time I get scanned by anyone they always pick up the WANTED status, and I get attacked WHEREVER I go.
Anyone got ideas?? Would really like to NOT have to get myself killed to clear this...and avoid the inevitable six-figure rebuy expense :-S

You need to save and quit to main menu. and reload, and the wanted status will be gone.
Nope, I've been playing mostly solo recently and got hit with it. Open/Solo difference is not that great.
Same here. Only I apparently didnt have the shields to handle a station attack. I blinked, and they toasted me. blinked.
Good news though, I got to keep my cargo. Which is a pleasant change. I normally try and get killed when I have all my cash tied up in my cargo, so that its really a kick in the widdershins when I get royally beaten.
Same problem with paying fines
I have had that problem too I was hunting for pirates and I was engaged with one and another flew right into my weapon fire or friendly tried visiting stations where I was wanted to pay fine, to find I had no criminal fines which is very odd indeed because when I unlock station tried to fire at me as well as the security patrols.
Notice this problem the last couple of days died already once from visiting stations where I was wanted to pay fine and no fines coming up

I am having major issues landing?
Getting in to space ports is easy, years of ZX81 practice fixes that. However, putting the ship down on the spot is an issue. i am in the blue, on the deck, yet the 'system' says not? Any ideas? So far have crashed 3 ships and received fines. For what? being a rookie? Especially considering the cost of the fines? 400 crs out of a start up of 1,000, too high and too stupid. Crashing the ship fair enough, but fining rookies for learning to to land, not on folks.

Every time you get scanned it adds up. Fast way to accumulate a great bounty

It could be cheaper if you choose to die in a stripped sidewinder instead of paying those fines.

Pro Tip: look for an outpost with a black market, they don't have security ships so you won't be scanned or need to sneak in on silent running.
Keep in mind that BMs in low security areas pay you less.
sounds like you need to spend more time in the tutorials, are you sure you have the right pad?
Err... right pad, being in my 50s knowing my numbers, is not an issue.
What I am saying is this: I am on the pad, in the blue zone, spot on, but it does not lock, or what ever word you have for the game taking hold of the ship. Not all the time, but at least 20% of the time. Just fast beeping and nothing else, I go back up and re-sit, and all I get is beeping until the time runs out?

when you enter the station do you turn around before landing or land facing the back wall? if you turn around you won't be able to land as you'll be backwards on the pad.
apart from that i have no idea what to suggest as without a video of what's happening its hard to know what prevents you from landing.
