I don't have a problem with shield cells, they are getting balanced anyway. But I would like to see them restricted to one module per ship.
I really think FDEV messed up the shield strentgh and charge rate a bit. Right now pretty much the only way to recharge shields in any sensible time is to use shield cells. Larger ships don't seem to have good enough shields, on the whole, as they're much easier to hit with fixed weapons.
Without beta access I've no idea what they've actually done to SCB, but if it doesn't come with a shield charge/power buff I'll be disappointed. The shield charge rate is my main beef: it should drain the capacitor much faster.
At the moment, 3 players in Vipers working together can take out a pre-nerf player Python. However, without teamwork, the Python could pick them off one by one. This is the way it should be, and suggests that the Python is not massively overpowered.

However, I will balance this by saying that the Python feels too agile. I've been testing one with mixed A and D modules. Dogfighting with Vipers when you're several times heavier with several times the firepower feels a bit wrong.

FD have over-nerfed the Python for 1.1 and hopefully they will review and rebalance.
hate to break it too ya but a good pilot in a viper could take down a kitted python alone

This. The Python can jump out in 5 seconds. The only way you're taking out a Python solo in a Viper is if over multiple fought (not submitted) interdictions. If somebody manages to run away then nobody really wins. You cant mass-lock a Python in your Viper, so at best you can just scare it away. And people seem to forget the Viper got some pretty hefty 'nerfs' in 1.1, too. I wouldn't be too cocky if I were you...![]()
Lol I'd love to see that. I'm a pretty terrible pilot, but I doubt I'll be dying to a single Viper any time soon in my A-grade Python, and that's how it should be.hate to break it too ya but a good pilot in a viper could take down a kitted python alone
Depends on your shield generator. If you put a D rated shield in your vessel it will recharge in no time, with an A rated it takes longer. I actually like this design, if you are a good pilot and manage to outmaneuver your enemy a D rated shield could be a benefit (due to less weight and faster recharge times). That way it's not all about money but about considering which outfit is best for your play style.
this is actually false, there is pretty much a 1:1 ratio between shield strength and recharge time, if its 10% stronger, it takes 10% longer to recharge or to reinstate the shield once its dropped - recharge rates IMO are too slow across the board, you can recharge any shield with like 0.5 of a point in system they recharge that damn slowly
Well, you said a class D shield recharges faster. It does not. It gains the same strength per second (ie. recharges at the same rate), but just saturates quicker, so gains more of a fraction of its overall strength per second (not the same as recharging faster).I have no problem with you suggesting recharge should be faster in general, but please don't say what I write is false unless you can prove me wrong instead of basically writing the same I said.

Help!
Got a fine for accidentally catching my finger on the fire button in a no fire zone of 150CR, but I cant pay the fine anywhere at all! The logging out and back in again trick doesn't work for me like it has for others with fines... so I'm too scared to go anywhere in case the fine escalates and I end up getting blown to bits by the over zealous space traffic cops...
Anyone got any ideas as to what I can do?
