i had a delivery mission time out on me and ended up with 1 tonne of stolen cargo, any suggestions for paying off this MASSIVE fine i have?

i know, i was just starting to get somewhere as well

i got this after paying off a 775 Cr fine for the same item, the bug hit so i couldn't sell it and got scanned leaving the station and hit with this fine.

Bankruptcy is punishable by death. As with everything else in the Elite universe.

Combat stabilisers are illegal in some places, that could have caused it.

There's more. I found 15 Combat stabilizers in my cargo. I did not buy them. I bought something else, forgot what though.
I cannot sell these, I get error messages at different stations.
When I dump these I loose the investment in cargo too

I guess the fine / cargo data is messed up.

My grandfather did this once with an old Toyota he had... walked out from lunch, unlocked the car and drove half a block before he realized it wasn't his car. His key actually worked, though.

Maybe the Hauler's keys are made the same way and you just hopped in someone else's.

Did you park it in the white zone... because the white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only, there is no parking in the white zone.

Oh, you certainly have my sympathies. You've gotten some good suggestions from folks (other than me). About all I can offer is some feeble attempts at humor to make you feel a little better.

You are right, it works

Exit the station, jettison the cargo, scoop it up again, and then try selling it. That usually works.

This worked!
It's a pity I was a bit slow at scooping so I lost some cargo but I could sell the stuff I scooped.

Now I'll wait till the 42k fine will transform into a bounty and fly to Freeport I guess

Edit: After scooping the goods were not markede as stolen..
I could sell them at the normal market.

I got a 1 credit fine for 1 copper from a non- done mission
