The latest version of the game manual really should be accessible via the new Galnet system.
Plus all the information not in the manual... :)

200 CR fine for "Reckless Flying" at 7 km from the station on the way out, not hitting anything :p

System: Facece
Station: Simpson's Depot (allied)
Ship: Anaconda
Speed: 240 m/s straight line towards Fotla
Distance from Station: 7Km

How? A small system security vessel curved its way into my path, but actually avoided me.
I did not alter speed or course, as I figured AI should be smart enough to get around a ship at constant speed going in a straight line.

Clearly, it was the system security ship doing the reckless flying and deserving the fine, if anything.

And didn't FD say "NO FINES" unless you hit something?

Not that the 200 CR bother me, but having to remember to pay it does, as well as the fact that it was just wrong.

Did the security ship have shields, and how close did it pass behind you? The reason I ask is that ships can take wash damage if they fly through another ship's thrust plume. I lost half a shield ring once when a Type 7 flew over me and gave me an ion bath. I'm just wondering whether an unshielded ship would take hull damage, enough to trigger the fine.

Interesting point. And quite possible, as he passed under me coming from my front going towards my rear. I failed to check for shields though it seems unlikely system security would fly shieldless? I guess maybe low ranked ones do... like the pirates in RES zones.

I guess its too much to ask that AI realize when it was its own fault... :D

I've given up paying attention to the "Speeding" issue, considering the fine is quite small unless you actually destroy the other ship. It was getting in the way of my efficient landing procedure ;p

Yeah, like Jack said, it's pretty much certain the idiot flew through your thrust plume. The 200 Cr fine is the one that gets issued for shield-damage only, so you probably didn't even touch his hull.

The only way to guarantee not getting those fines is to slow to under 100 m/s while you're in the NFZ of a station. You can't be surprised if the cops don't fine each other for reckless flying, heheh. I just slow for the slot, and boost outside and to hell with the consequences. Already 'murdered' someone when they flew right into my face to scan me.

Lifetime fine in the right panel statistic.

In the right panel, in the statistic page, I have a lifetime fine line. What is the meaning of this line ? Where can I find this fine ?

You can test this by going to station entrance without requesting docking. Wait until you get a 500cr fine, then go dock and pay off the fine. Log out and back in and your fine should show.

I have been fined MANY times since release, if I look it shows zero.

Legacy Fines and how to pay

Quick question: What is a legacy fine and how and where i have to pay it?

i was sitting the last 7 days on 2 fines, one 6000 and one 5000 cr. Now the timer is gone and the fines are also gone. Now i have no idea where i have to pay those fines or if i have to pay those fines at all.

They don't seem to show anywhere, BUT if you're in a system that bounty was in, you can pay it off.

The only complaint I have that those are really, not showed anywhere as soon as timer is gone.

Now we are forced to do that:

The workaround/exploit to clearing an active bounty early instead of waiting 7 days is to buy a cheap ship (e.g. sidewinder) and get scanned by the authority. The authority will destroy your ship, and your bounty will be “claimed”, leaving you with a legacy fine instead of a bounty & wanted status.
You can then repay the resulting legacy fine after you respawn and carry on as if nothing happened.

Thx, but this is stupid FD ...
