Always paid my fines, haven't had many TBH.
I've been playing an upright law-abiding pilot so far, who at some point no doubt is going to break bad.

fines added to bounty

So i had a <ahem> fairly large fine from being scanned while ferrying contraband. I'd neglected to pay it off, noticing i had a week to do so if i wanted to remain joe honest, and ,hey, needed a couple of widgets for the smuggling barge inthe meantime.

Things got interesting when i engaged a couple of fly pirate cobras. Melted the first for a nice payout and then engaged his wing mate a little too quickly, as i was already taking his fire (i must not have allowed the simple scan to resolve)...que a 6k bounty on me.

Fine. Except I now have a massive 7 day bounty, for the 6k + the outstanding fine. Both were in the same jurisdicton, so it kind of makes sense, but i wonder if anyone knows if this is the intended behaviour?

Gonna be less blase about fines in future if so!

Cheers,

Metkis

Fines just getting absorbed into bounties once you have a bounty. It is intended. Once you're wanted/have a bounty, fining you becomes rather meaningless.

Yeah, makes sense...and i guess i knew it would happen the other way around. I hadn't considered a pre existing fine also adding onto the newer bounty.
look out for me on crimewatch/most wanted!

1.9 million fine for a single infraction

As the le states 1.9 million fine for a single delivery of illegal cargo. I've gotten some expensive fines in the past but nothing even close to a million.

I imagine this is part of the 1.4 update? Sure is expensive.. I'll have to think twice next time i consider breaking the law XD

I got TWO 4,086,000cr fines when they merged the servers the other week and my legit cargo became illicit over night. A T9 space cow and a full cargo of imperial passengers is not what I'd recommend if u wish to get rich quick

Ive not done it yet...but if I got an infraction that big, it would be suicide sidey time.

At least you didnt have to spend a couple of years in prison , so i see that as a big +

I had a 2.3 million fine for smuggling 532T worth of cargo. how much cargo did you have onboard, and what was the sell price?

Ok now i dont feel so bad. I checked my lifetime fine value and it was 2.7 million (after 100's of hours of game play). So to get a fine that almost equals that in 1 shot seems a bit excessive. Oh well break the law pay the price. Except i don't plan on paying anything, they can try to come after me to collect (if they want to die)..

That seems about right then. I had 448t of cargo, cant remember sell price but was about 1.4m profit in that transaction.

Hmm.. if it rolls over into a bounty of the same size, i smell exploitalicious. Local bounties though are meant to be capped at a million.... assumning the cap is obeyed for expired fines.

Pah thats nothing.. walst trying to smuggle in my conda I got scanned almoste every time, over a million each time. So I just carryed on smuggling for a week then when the fine turned into a 23mill bounty, I found some where else to smuggle my wheres for a week. No one came looking for there money or justice lol

Well it was either 1.3 or 1.4 that made so you didn't get it as a bounty....so there's that..you weren't blown out of the sky.
