First time in history (?) - fighting Thargoid armada after contaminating an entire Spire Site!

I believe this is the first time that anyone attempted something like this - I've not seen any reports of such an attempt, but please correct me if I'm wrong!

The Winged Hussars managed to poison the entire Thargoid Spire Site in Col 285 Sector OS-T d3-143 system tonight, which made an entire armada of Interceptors arrive to defend it. We counted 18 Medusas and Basilisks altogether.

On our first attempt we've inserted the Contaminated Compounds into all 8 petals at once. This only made a single wave of Interceptors to arrive.

On our second attempt, we did it one by one - as in poisoned one petal, wait for the defence forces to arrive, then poison another one, and so on, until all 8 petals were poisoned. This made the entire Spire switch off, change colour and stop generating the green particles from the top.

We've had a grat battle with the Thargoid armada, truly an epic evening!

A few pictures are linked below, which don't really show the entire armada, which is a shame. It was glorious! I did live stream it, if anyone wants to catch it - the stream is in Polish, but you can catch the visuals to see how it looked :)

I'm relatively sure there are solo attempts of this which have been done by AXI and/or others (I am in one discord where a member shared a picture of a fully contaminated spire after they did it all by themselves) - but not sure about any wing action such as this. I expect it was fun nonetheless.

You would think that the Thargoids'd come by to defend their sites a little harder and earlier than when it's already getting messed with. But, alas...

Oh, I'm not talking about contaminating an entire site - I am 100% sure someone did it the day people figured out how to do it in the first place. It'd be silly to claim that we did it first :D

I'm talking more about summoning an entire armada of Thargoids to defend their contaminated site. Should have been more clear probably.

I changed the thread title to reflect it better :)

Hm. Yeah, that, I'm not sure it's been done before, or at least not intentionally. I remember around the week of the update which added spires there was one particular occurrence where after the system reached completion, there was just an endless swarm of Medusas spawning in and people were totally confused (but it looked like a terrific kind of fun).

I definitely missed that one! TBH it was fun, but it's very impractical - much better way is to done 1 petal at a time, get rid of the wave of Thargos, then do another one and so on.

We just really wanted to see what would happen if you do all 8 at once 😅
