Flat Ride Theming Question

Just a question re the flat rides just shown...

All of them look fabulous, but they are heavily themed and would only suit specific areas of a park... I was wondering if you were creating generic/different versions of the same rides so that you didn't have to be restricted to having the plane ride in the city/urban area, the flying carpet in the desert/arabian themed area etc.

This can be quite restrictive if it's the case!

Same here !

I made a suggestion about this here :

That's what I thought was bad with RCT3, limited so much. Modularity/rethemeable or including more generic copy of same ride as well and count it as one single ride.

Some flat rides have the theme built into them by default- for example, the "Air Race" ride you see in their video. However, they did take the theme up a notch and added urban building....overkill? The last thing I want are kooky variations of rides like those in Wild!
Then there are the other rides like the Disk'O/Skater Coaster (Arabian Carpet,) and the "aerial carousel," which do not have a set theme and instead vary from park to park.

I think Frontier knows this. They're probably just showing off these themed rides to show their creativity.

Bare Bone themes for Roadside Parks or ones that set up in Parking Lots. I worked at a County Fair and it was Bare Bones ( No Queue lines what so ever just individual pieces of fencing) , I worked at a Themed park 10 years and it was Bare Bones, I worked at a Large Park for 1 summer and it was Half and Half. No Ticket Booths ( Entrance Fee ) but just the control area. Some were enclosed but most shared the same Pole and Cloth Tarp as the Queue Line.

Option for Both to Mix and Match as wanted I say.

Have you seen their latest posts? Looks like most of the rides are going to be heavily themed. They look nice, but they're very restricting.

^ Agreed.

Tho I do like the Modern Rides of the Past 20-30 years, what about those rides from before that? Say, 1920-late 70's.

The Kind of rides where just looking at them made you wonder if they were going to fall apart at any time. The ones Unkept and had missing paint, had rust and Grease everywhere. Patches welded in the metal where they were too rotted. Exposed Power Cords, Weather Cracked Faded Seats. Hand Painted ( often badly ) Plywood Scenic Pieces sometimes attached to a ride to help hide flaws, Temporary Fencing with a Plastic Chain holding you back ( some tubular, angle iron). Exposed Control Control Panels/Boxes were a Ride Op has to stand in the rain because he don't even get an Umbrella. Rides that look like they were made in the backyard by Tim Allen[hehe]

Might even make the the Option to have employees Scruffy looking, like you would see at a County Fairs and the Roadside Carnies. They would fit some themes better than a Brand New Clean Cut looking employee would.

It was like taking your life in your own hands but made it more exciting at the same time. The Intensity would rise with each passing moment, not knowing if this was the time the arm of the Octopus would fling you off into another ride/path//lake/parking lot....
