Fleet Carrier decommissions

Seeing more and more every day. Almost every system seems to have one and often two Decommed FCs.

I had been holding off buying one after the news of how bad the fuel availability was. Now seeing more and more abandoned FCs. Sad. I am hoping ED Devs are hard at work making a few changes to make them a bit more viable. My fingers and toes are crossed.

Is it that fleet carriers are being decomissioned because of the fuel, or are some also being dumped because having bought them, some owners don't actually know what to do with them?

There's a hatched pattern in the nav menu on the specific carrier name and when you select it, it tells you.

You can have viable fleet carriers or viable supercruise and system maps - you pick.

At this stage, I am more on the side of the people that say that the first maintenance cost of fleet carriers should have stayed that way.

Too many fleet carriers are clogging the game, and it is getting worse.

No idea. Why buy one if you have no idea what to do with it? LOL.

Except they're for individual owners. They were originally for squadrons, but that was changed. Fueling should not be this painful.

Funny, years ago I worked as a land surveyor. We were doing a house that was in the million plus range. We realized that our entire crew of 4 could not pay the electric bill if they gave us the house...

For something this size, it should be painful, it should be slow, especially if you are doing on your own.

The change from squadrons to single owners was one of the worst shots in the foot frontier have done to date.

Maybe they had an idea but after getting one, it didn't pan out.

Anyway, the number of fleet carriers that seem to be ever present in the same system suggests that at least some are under used.
