Fleet Carrier for impatient/lazy Cmdr :)

So then..
I need (ok want) to regain my Elite status in Exploration and gain it in ExoBiology but patience isn't my strongest suit. So I'm going to grab a FC simply so ifwhen I get bored I can hop back to the carrier and sell all acquired data, then swap to a basic Sidewinder and suicide back to the bubble. Will be taking a couple of mining ships to just break up any monotony.

Any way I have a couple of questions having never owned a FC (frankly never wanted one either):

Modules Needed/Required/Advised:
Repair: for the "oops who put a planet there" moments
Rearm: For limpet restocking (I think?)
UC and Vista: Not much point in doing this without these
Refuel: Not 100% sold on needing this one. Fuel scooping being a thing when exploring. No real downside to fitting just me being cheap

Any others needed?

Having sold all data and taking the suicidewinder back to the bubble I now need to get shot of said FC.
Can I decommission it from anywhere? Or have I got to get it back home first?
Do I need to transfer all my ships back to the bubble first? Where do they go I I don't.

Yes.

Absolutely, especially Vista as you get full payment.

Fit it it isn't worth the bother of leaving off.

No. The upkeep will be a trivial 14,772 (ish) credits a week so a bit of exobiology will fund your carrier for decades.

Probably a good idea.

Where do they go I I don't.

Either the nearest shipyard or stuck in limbo until transferred to you current location, probably the same or similar for your modules and other items stored on board.

I advise installing all the services and then disabling all the the ones that you currently don’t want. With my FC, this method amounts to 26M in weekly upkeep, (which is trivial for expected weekly income from explo & exobiology income). And I probably have more services enabled than an explorer out in the black would need. At that point, you can immediately reactivate/deactivate any service to use upon demand. And you’ll never need to return to the bubble again to install another FC service.

This, i have everything except the shipyard, its about 30mil per week all switched on.

All this to save 10 mill a week? Might as well install AND keep all the modules enabled for 35 mill a week.

I would not buy unneeded module. You will be able to bring more tritium if you stick to the basic modules

To each his own. “All this” disabling and enabling of services takes literally less than 5 seconds and the services are immediately available when enabled. Keeping them enabled is also a trivial cost, I agree. But for example the Secure Warehouse is unlikely to be needed out in the black, but having it installed will forever prevent the future hassle, and significant time required to jump the FC back to the vendor.
