ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carrier Update - Game Maintenance

Tomorrow, to the first client who enters the restaurant ,where I work, and asks me for a drink, I will say: I have a life out of here! you know?, why don't you wait 1 week? I'm dealing with the world's problems, don't overwhelm me !!! :D

(By the way, in the hostelry world ,working part-shift sometimes, and sometimes working up to 15 hours straight, including Saturdays, Sundays, and festive days,

and always working under pressure from clients ,you rarely have a life outside of work, not all us have the job we want, but you can imagine how sorry I am for them)

Beautifully illustrates how you have missed my point.

Lets say a client walks into your restaurant tomorrow, orders a drink and it takes a little longer than normal to arrive at their table because staff are having to socially distance, everything is a bit weird. The client then goes on and on about what a terrible service it is. It's not a great service, no, but is it reasonable to not accept a delay because, as everyone knows, the world isn't working as it should at the moment?

Frankly, If I owned the restaurant you work in and you threw the drink over the client, I'd give you a rise and kick them out. They're being unreasonable at a time when we all have to just cool our jets a bit.

I'm not saying that FDEV only release perfect updates that always go swimmingly and any patch required always fixes all the problems. They are of course a nightmare for things like this and maybe this time last year, coming on here griping about the paint job you spent a couple of quid on because it is borked was ok and the right thing to do. But right now, expecting a 100% perfect service is something only a fool does. That there are delays in fixing that should come as no surprise. It was right a year ago to slag them off for it, hopefully in the not too distant future it will be ok again but in my opinion, right now just makes you look like a spoilt brat who has no consideration for anyone else at all.

This is a specialist forum about a game. References to issues with the game are appropriate. When the company's business model is partly derived from the sales of cosmetics, issues with cosmetics are pretty relevant, relative to the scope of topics that this forum encompasses.

If your business gains a reputation for poor quality (or assaulting it's customers) it's not going to do as well as one that does not. The idea of any business transaction is that both parties come away happy with the deal, or no deal takes place.

Agreed but it does not sit in some other worldly realm where people asking for stuff can ignore stuff going on in the world because ‘this is a specialist forum’. Any service you care to mention right now is not running as best as it could.

That you already know FDEV bork things, always have, yet seem to expect a better service at this time is just fanciful

Yet here they are, doing ok. Steam results last week showing a record number of CMDRS online (or some such statistic).

You really are missing a very simple point.

I agree their update was rubbish. I agree their ‘fix’ was rubbish. But unbelievably you seem to expect an improvement in their regular rubbish service to gold standard when the world has been plunged into tin can times. All the times they got it wrong before this, you were right to give them stick. All the times they’ll get it wrong after this, you’ll be right to give them stick but you’re living in a fantasy world if you think during these times they’re suddenly going to be able to do stuff they never have yet.

Where I work and literally in all the restaurants in the country, the client always pays at the end of the service, frontier has already been paid in full and more, it has been reflected in their accounts, but in many cases they are not delivering what they promise ( in my case it was a "alive" galaxy and in constant evolution for about 10 years), it is simple to understand, more than spoiled children who complain WITH REASON because they paid for cosmetics, I see a lot of adult children, in plan ,behaving well , flattering / praising as waiting for some candy or toy.
Adults usually argue for the bad and for the good, and if something is wrong it is said, I think that no one here lives in a fantasy childrens world where everything is colorful and good, holly God.
Tell me, how do you let them know that their work is lousy right now, saying thanks for breaking the game? that's stupid.
If you want to praise them you are free to do it, you have been doing it for years and that is why you have the game so empty that you have after 6 years, while you see how they dedicate time to other things and jobs, new licenses ... others and I are also free to complain, because in their day they promised many things and some of us do not forget them or see them progress, and we gave support buying stupid things that I would never buy in no other videogame just to support them believing in a plan, but it seems that they don't have it or it changes constantly, and lengthening it over time.

And it is funny, because in part I am defending the oldest players and that they do not remove the blindfold to see that they have been deceived while the account of this company has not stopped growing, and that is a fact.

I've seen this show so many times that I'm now the guy on the left:

If talking about stutters then yes
honestly ,haven't been playing since November and tried the first beta.
After 10 months and what they presented, it was enough to keep me out of the game until the next dlc or wait a prudent time to give a chance to FC´s,
but I'm 0 excited for coming back .

I only read the forum to check that nothing has changed since the famous letter, and that users argue and excuse the same things for years, I am even realizing that I start repeating myself. 🙃

Well, put it like this.
Along with a squadron mate are taking a trip to the Perseus Crags in my nice shiney new Fleet Carrier. All was well course was plotted, then this fix hit. Now every System I jump the carrier into that is not discovered results in Orange Sidewinder when attempting Supercuise directly from the Carrier. Attempt to High wake to a different system directly from the Fleet Carrier causes Black Adder. The only way around this is to shut the game down to desktop and restart. Funny thought this does not happen when jumping into a discovered system.

Minining for Tritum last night, 3 Orange Sidewinder and 1 Black Adder. So in a space of two hours. I so enjoyed restarting the game, it was so fun and engaging.

I am so grateful to Fdev for this new ingame/outgame experience brought to us after a fix that supposed to fix these issues.

Could this be the Hobby @Yaffle mentions I wonder;)

that's another thing, like going back after an update and trashing all your invested hours with discovery errors, stats and stuff ... and in some cases, even the money you donated for a paint job. It's not that I care much about those things, after all, it's a hobby, but it makes you feel like an idiot.

Oh i been away for over a year so have no idea whats going on i take it things like "stutters" are the norm now?

and of course I just got a store alert with never seen* paint jobs ... those are his priorities.

The people that make & sell the cosmetics & send out the emails are not the same people that develop the game or maintain the servers. A problem with one one does not delay the other.
