Notice Fleet Carrier Update - Known Issues

Logged an issue on Frontier.net that has probably already been stated but I can't be bothered filtering the whining posts from the real issues:

  • Passenger missions still absent, including ones currently underway.
  • Passengers are still onboard however. But they are starting to look confused and hungry.

Issues since (eventually, on the 100+th attempt) buying a fleet carrier yesterday:

1) Station flight control voice announcements on approach / depature from stations have disappeared.
2) On the Fleet Carrier, I have not installed the Shipyard facility as of yet, but ships (the four Imperial ships) are showing as available to purchase.
3) Initiating a shipyard ship transfer to my carrier provides an "incoming message" alert but no message appears.
4) If I initiate a ship transfer that takes e.g. 25 minutes, then I initiate a carrier jump, the ship transfer magically speeds up so that the ship arrives before the carrier jumps.
5) [VERY MINOR] when plotting the carrier jump the option to "use jetcone boost" is still available, even though carriers don't use this.

One minor change which is irritating the hell out of me: there seems to be a new sound for notifications in the notifications panel, some sort of "chit chit" sounding noise. Sometimes there is no message at all. But the sound is massively irritating and there seems to be no way to turn it off at all. Why? Why do this? Why fix something that wasn't broken? Please either remove this or allow us to turn this off.

EDIT: [VERY MINOR] - In the LEESTI system the CARRIER ADMINISTRATION is calling CARRIER SERVICES in the System map.

Finally own a FC. Off to the cosmetics store. All downloaded great no problems. Being a fuel hauler including selling Trintium I went with British Petroleum colors respecting the programmers in the UK. I need to add Trintium fuel. Ten minutes later fully loaded.l. I've been busy making a fortune hauling Trintium around.

Now how to make a profit weekly versus installed components. Given bugs in the current update I'll install them later. Meanwhile loving the cosmetics...

If anyone manages to get their FC. Stock up with some point defence modules and fly out to me. Dodging those sentinel missiles is tiresome.

I agree with others on this 1000%, the new buttons look awful. Plus I can't imagine any situation where I would dock and NOT access the main Starport Services. For example, if I've just completed a mission, I'll need to access Starport Services. If I'm delivering passengers, I'll need to access Starport Services. If I'm trading, I'll need to access Starport Services. If I'm outfitting, cashing in vouchers, swapping ships, etc etc etc. - I'll need to access Starport Services. I can't imagine docking, just using these new buttons and then leaving in any circumstances. So why the change?

Wow, my very own carrier. Its just a little bit exciting. A billion to spare too, 7 is a great amount to have for these.

Now time to fill it up...

Also the ship kits look alot better than they do on the website, the trading one at least feels very right. I can wait until the next sale.

EDIT: Im almost out of alcor in case it was a capacity thing.

Thanks Tim
When you say that "players cannot buy a FC" in the known issues, does this include players being told they already own one when trying to buy?
My game crashed last night while "confirming purchase" and now it won't let me try again because I apparently have one already.
Cheers

Yeah, Dave's Hope went poof. Bummer I found out when I got there though. No biggie.

2 FCs in orbit around the planet. (seems like over kill but they look really nice)
Federal navy interdicted me 3 times in the system. Didn't bother scanning me, they're just being bullies.
Hope FC works the bugs out.
I'm not so sure that I'm keen on the whole fleet carrier thing. I don't care if they're NPC or not. I'm sure I'll get used to the notion of em
Yeah I know humanity in the game needs progress. But if yer gonna HAVE FCs with 500ly jump ranges and what, 10 pads (I forget the exact count) the galaxy is gonna get smaller faster. We're gonna need another galaxy 🤪 (HINT)

I went to a few systems I haven't been too in the bubble, though they're well established systems, I had to FSS scan em just to be able to get information on half the planets. Never had to do that before. Half the planets in systems I have been in need to be FSS scanned as well, that is if I want to know what I'm prospecting for. But I'm sure this will all come out in the wash. It's nothing more than a minor irritant.

The new tweeks on interfaces will take getting used to, but they are nicely simplified.
But what we really need in the current ships is cup holders and the ability to clean the windows.
Maybe those previously permit locked systems will be no longer.
There's 3 FCs where I am at the moment in one of the Synuefe systems

I wonder if the F/DEVs do this deliberately just so we have something to moan about, just like little children who's just been given a bag of sweets they DON'T like?
Damn! All I ever get is Mauve Adders! :)

I have lived in Germany for 13 years and 'YOUR' Laws do NOT prohibit 24 Hour Service

Are you seriously saying that the same team of staff should work 24 hours to fix this? I am as miffed as you about what's happened, but the staff didn't mess up deliberately - they ae human, and humans make mistakes. Things go wrong sometimes. They are doing their best - many if not all are working from home during the pandemic; many companies would have simply furloughed their staff and said "sorry, we're not working on the game just now," - but not Frontier. They deserve our respect, understanding and support for their welfare.

They have probably worked way over their shifts yesterday and likely will do so again today. There ARE laws about working 24hours straight - it's calling the EU Working Time Directive.

Cut them some slack, please.

yesterday when i logged in , i was in my DBX with 4 cargo space , i was empty when i logged out before the update in the Kakbutan system, when i was able to log in after the update i had 4 marked slaves in my cargo rack
They sneak in when you are not looking!

are people still getting connection errors? Or has this all been fixed now.
I'm kinda scared to connect only to find missing funds, bookmarks or whole systems....

I still cannot log in. Game tells me it cannot communicate with Authentication servers and closes automatically. I haven't been able to even log in since the patch.

Just spent the last 2+hrs trying to locate a conflict zone... have you removed them so the fleet carriers don't get scratched?

GG... coulda put that in the patch notes. I guess there were not enough weeks of beta testing to notice.

try to clear the \\users\yourname\appdata\local\Frontier_Developements folder (after you logged-out from Launcher (Options logout) and closed all ED & Launcher)
