Notice Fleet Carrier Update - Known Issues

I agree with others on this 1000%, the new buttons look awful. Plus I can't imagine any situation where I would dock and NOT access the main Starport Services. For example, if I've just completed a mission, I'll need to access Starport Services. If I'm delivering passengers, I'll need to access Starport Services. If I'm trading, I'll need to access Starport Services. If I'm outfitting, cashing in vouchers, swapping ships, etc etc etc. - I'll need to access Starport Services. I can't imagine docking, just using these new buttons and then leaving in any circumstances. So why the change?
There are a number of times over the last few weeks where I wished I could do just that. Was just landing to just get fuel, or rearm before heading out again. Didn’t need to access the star port services at all.

Only a minor bug but thought would report nonetheless, getting a nice shade of yellow overcast on the nameplates, both in the hanger and outside on the hull of carriers ;)

Just spent the last 2+hrs trying to locate a conflict zone... have you removed them so the fleet carriers don't get scratched?

GG... coulda put that in the patch notes. I guess there were not enough weeks of beta testing to notice.
Or people weren’t doing BGS stuff in the beta and I could see why. Too much bother if it doesn’t impact the main game.

try to clear the \\users\yourname\appdata\local\Frontier_Developements folder (after you logged-out from Launcher (Options logout) and closed all ED & Launcher)

Thanks for the advice!
Is there anything I need to consider/save? I made a backup of my keybindings. This isn't going to compromise my commander over on FDev servers somehow?

Edit: Thanks a alot for the help! Just logging out and re-linking my Steam Account to FDev worked. No need to delete anything :)

I think the idea is that if you've parked your Fleet Carrier next to a CZ or RES, you can do a 'touch and go' refuel, repair and restock in the minimum amount of time.

Morning Commanders,

Just an update to say that the development team are already investigating, the community team are reading all your feedback and we’ll be sharing more updates throughout the day when we have them.

Thanks for your patience, I’ll also update the OP to reflect this!
Hi Tim I would just like to let you guys know if you are on the store for the paints etc on xbox one, none of the fleet carrier options are showing.

Not sure if you guys are already aware.

I figured it would be. But even then, I'd want to encash the vouchers I had already accrued, just in case, meaning I would have to access Starport/Carrier services anyway.

Greetings Commanders,

Thank you to everyone who has reported the issues they’ve found since the update went live. We’re reading all the feedback and the development team is working hard on resolving them as we speak.

This thread is intended to share which issues we are aware of and any information relating to them. We'll keep this thread up to date with news and information, so please do keep checking back for the latest updates.

Current known issues:
  • Commanders being kicked from the game and unable to rejoin, or taking a longer than expected time to rejoin.
  • Commanders experiencing crashes related to connection errors.
  • Various sites missing from the in game world, such as Dav’s Hope.
  • Commanders being unable to purchase a Fleet Carrier.
  • Some Commanders did not have to wait any time for their fast track quota.
    • Fast tracking Powerplay quotas is currently not available while we investigate a further fix.

Thank you for your help in reporting these issues and your patience as we investigate!

For any other issues we're going to be reading the feedback here, but please also submit them to our issue tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/

Tim

o7 Commanders

Morning Tim

Thanks for the update.

When you say "updates" you mean posts on the forum. Have you got an ETA of a patch for the game itself?

Morning @Tim Smith , thanks for the update!

Could I also suggest that you add any known fixes to the first post as well, such as this one:

(Some people have missed that thread but posted in this one so it’d probably be good to have them cross referenced on the respective first posts.)

Keep up the good work, and please pass on thanks and encouragement to everyone that’s working on fixing the problems. o7

If you click the Fleet Carriers tab you get nothing. Click on the top left drop-down menu icon and you can access the FC cosmetics from that.

I've also worked in IT, doing installations. On occasion, the installation hasn't worked. In those circumstances, there comes a point at which the installation is declared a failure, and the rollback plan is executed. Time is always allocated to rollback, so that if by a certain time the installation has not been successful, the rollback plan is followed even if "it would only be a few more minutes" to get the installation to work. No-one goes home until everything is working, be it updated or not. The longer people work on a problem, the more tired they get, and the more prone to errors they become.

I'm sure that the players would prefer a working pre-update game to one with a broken update.
