Fleet carriers being the first step towards executive control

Ok so remember when frontier said something bout giving orders to a giant vessel? What if fleet carriers were designed to be both squadron owned and each member gets his own fleet carrier that when your ship is docked with it you can transfer to the bridge which is where you control every aspect of your carrier. Like you pick a role like say gunner another player designated covas would take control of normal movement leaving you to focus on aiming and shooting there could even be an option to give cover fire via my viper as long as another covas is designated to it

I assumed fleet carriers were the fulfillment of the "executive control of capital ships" promise. I could be wrong through.
You might be onto something but one thing that irked me in Star Trek bridge crew was that there was no npc for the captain so if I decided to man the phasers I’d have to jump between stations

It'll prob look like any station screen, except with a menu option to plot a course or something.
Not hoping for much.
