ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carriers - Content Reveal Recap

If I take a fleet of 16 ships with me does this mean that noone can land on my fleet carrier. If so then I probably have to store some of my ships in the fleetcarrier shipyard. How many of my own ships can I store in the shipyard?
No, your ships are handled by the shipyard :) (assuming you buy one)

How about all those systems even a single jump Anaconda can't reach?

It's a beta, suicidewinder back to the bubble ;)

How fast can you mine 500t of anything?

who's talking about mining? talks about setting goals ... getting to a certain distant location ... 40 hours to go to colony? must be good for you

"easily"

Not really. 5 billion up front, weekly upkeep, and loading up the stuff and fuel first.
Taking one hour of warmup.

I don't see that as easily better then just going there yourself.

I was being facetious, but for huge bulk trading I could see it happening.

First off, I'd like to say that Fleet Carriers look amazing and I think they'll be a super-fun addition to the galaxy.

With that out of the way, I'm deeply, deeply disappointed at the lack of any thought put into the PVP player-base in the design of fleet carriers.

A fleet carrier could have had so much potential for PVP gameplay. And the carriers as they are now seem to be entirely focused on PVE mechanics. Aside from "allow/disallow notorious commanders from docking" there is nothing that creates incentives for a PVP player for purchase a carrier. A mobile shipyard perhaps? That's about it.

Why can we sell combat vouchers at the FC but NOT exploration data?

Where is the logic in that??!?!?!?!

PLEASE Frontier, for the love of all that is Holy, reconsider and add Universal Cartographics to the Fleet Carriers.

Without UC this huge new feature you spent two years developing is WORTHLESS to a very large segment of your players.

PLEASE RECONSIDER.

Another vote here for Universal Cartographics on board, even as an optional service.

Also, will there be an option to restrict who can store ships on the carrier, beyond who can dock there? If not, consider that another wishlist item.
I agree. Stellar cartographics should be on there as a purchasable option, but the money you get from it is only a cut.

I have seen that you can sell codex vouchers, the only way to make that work is if there are going to be much more stuff to find on planets. Maybe not this update, but the one after.

The only thing I would like to know is if NPCs can also land on the carriers? If not, then I don't see carriers being able to produce enough passive income to be self-sufficient or even profitable.

Park one near a mining hotspot and purchase the commodity. Then fly across the Bubble to sell them at a profit.

Seconded. At minimum there should be options for players to attack a FC (when in open-mode). An incoming wave of NPCs, Thargoids vs the FC would be epic.

Good question. I'm wondering about that as well.
Otherwise I'm really looking forward to this one. Great stuff.
