Fleet Carriers Update patch 1 - Downtime and patch notes

So I guess they aren't fixing the mess this caused to BGS. Oh well on to the next game I guess. too bad Frontier just doesn't care about all the work we've done. I'm certainly not going to keep doing it just to have it happen again in Odyssey because Frontier is such a terribly deleoper.

Perhaps read the patch notes before throwing the toys out of the pram?

Ongoing balancing of Faction influence normalisation.

They are aware of the problems and trying to fix things.

There’s been a very long-standing bug (happening since day one, I think?) where that happens to all ships and was particularly noticeable the nearer you are to the Galactic Core. I’m hoping this also fixes that, but haven’t the time right now to make a solo trip to Sag A*. Perhaps someone already out there can confirm?
If you're referring to the square sectors of stars, that is not really fixable. This is apparently how Stellar Forge works, so they can't fix it unless they make an overhaul to Stellar Forge unfortunately.

For someone who started mining after the January update this year, this update isn't bad. And yes, I've collected tons of LTDs, got all the nice ships, some engineered, some not and I'm still fine with it.

This "nerf" how all of you might call it isn't bad. And no, I don't own a Fleet Carrier and I've got 3.9B credits on me (60% because of LTDs) which will continue to rise due to mining LTDs. Nothing is stopping me and I'm perfectly ok with what's going on regarding this situation.

As of right now, I'm mining LTDs in the so called "Borann V2" and the refinery in my mining Python is currently busy being full of unprocessed LTD fragments to the point I have to jettison couple of limpets every now and then. Haven't noticed anything that would ruin my fun.

Here's the screenshot I've taken couple of minutes ago.

You're crying too much over these things to the point when even I, who hates these things happening, have to say you're full of it. I registered some minutes ago just to leave the comment.

I think the nerf affects only the sub-surface deposit. The patch note has no reference to laser mining which I presume it didn't change.

That's not a fix, that's a band-aid. That doesn't undo the severe damage already done. They would have to roll back influence levels and factions states to undo the damage.

After the update today my fleet carrier designation name change to a new set of alfa numerics, and according to eddb, the number of fleet carriers in the game went from 4,260 to 282. Having doubts about the eddb data but, quite honestly I am not sure what to think. The closest carrier to me was 7,500 LYs a day ago, now the closest FC is 28,800 LYs away. I got a feeling there's going to be a lot of folks who wake up this morning finding their FC disappeared from the game.

Thanks for the patch notes Tim and thank you to all of the developers that worked on this patch.

I like all the changes and fixes and plan to buy my Fleet Carrier tonight.

Your statement was they are not fixing the problem. You are incorrect. They are working on it. They probably can't undo what has already happened without upsetting all the factions that have benefited from the issue and more likely, by reverting the BGS back days or weeks (assuming they have that data) would likely have many knock on effects as well.

Best they can do is fix the underlying problem so people can get on with things.

Then they shouldnt have broken it in the first place. They promised after the last two fiasco patches they would do better. They failed, they always fail. I'm just at the breaking point where it's not worth playing a game than destroys everything you do with every patch. Why bother doing it at all?

I understand that, but I was reffering to players mentioning every mining nerf as if it was the end of the world, both on Steam and FD forums. Rediculous. Over-exaggerating could be the right word to describe all of this complaining about these "nerfs" and such.

The change to the hotspot overlaps was overdue, in my opinion there shouldnt be any overlap at all (or it should not have much influence). Hope they changed it enough so that it is very noticeable.

Otherwise kind of disappointing list of fleet carrier changes and fixes, there is still soo much to do to make them really good....

Overlaps are good, their rarity created a player hotspot which fills the void left by the removal of CGs. The fleet carrier taxis are an interesting new dynamic you wouldn't get without these rare locations.

Game's borked bruh. I cant super-cruise away from my FC. It gets stuck in animation and after a cpl min I get DC'd. On top of that it shows 3 of my FC in the nav panal. AND I saw the option to use SC assist which I do not have installed on the current ship.

EDIT**
after turning the game completely off and back on and then stepping away for about 10min. it seems to have resolved itself.
