Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch Notes

What are you talking about? /r/EliteMiners is already searching for and finding the new overlaps. Things just got shuffled.

That's a relief. I'd just seen that the overlap I'd been parked in was no longer an overlap and assumed the worst.

guess this ends Ganking for ever In open but never seeing certain players ever.
I am so bad at combat PvP, yet escaping gankers is extremely easy even without engineering if I was able to do it, anyone can. If some commanders want a casual game they should not play Elite, or just stick to Solo. This affects a lot of the dynamic aspects of the game where PvP is consensual during Powerplay and BGS wars. PvP does not = Ganking, only players with no skills think so.

but many of us "want to interact" - in friendly and cooperative manners, or just by at least seeing a different player out in the void... . but the ability to block awfully persistent non-consensual gankers and suicidewindering griefers has nothing to do with any of that and sure AF ain't an exploit. if you guys still didn't learn that open mode isn't just a giant PvP and suicidewindering grief playground and nothing else we'll make you through this new ability given to players, good change by FDev in my books.

but yeah, i too would have preferred a truly working C&P system in secure systems and zero punishment + even the ability to earn a lot of credits through PvP in anarchy systems over this change, but oh well - second best thing it is then instead.
It is an exploit in certain areas and totally unfair, if you read down the comments I have explained it fully, will not repeat, but it does mess up the ability to defend one self from enemy PvPers in the political game of Elite (powerplay) and the BGS wars both of which has thousands of CMDRs and now are at risk of not being able to oppose the enemy and just getting ganked and force to change this, dynamic and only real player combat part of elite, into a dull solo gameplay

I dont understand why you think the people who might block you are going to exclusively play in Open, or vice versa. Blocking and mode choice are both at the sole discretion of the individual player; if a bunch of you have worked out some sort of agreement to only play in Open, surely you can also agree not to block one another?

Hating the new in-cockpit sound effects, especially in the Krait. All the unexplained little beeps, buzzes and whistles. I am Autistic and I have hypersensitive hearing. This is a disability issue and needs to be sorted.

Started the game, left the station and it sounds like the ground crew is still working on my ship...very annoying.

Plus I don't think my Data Link scanner is working unless I forgot how to use it.

Many cores where I am, unfortunately all kinds of cores, although I am in an LTD hot spot. This is in Colonia, which system remains my secret. Also, big improvement of subsurface mining! 👍
I just started in borann, to mine Tritium. I thought that this came in core too? Thus far found a few cores all with different elements.

Less of an issue since indeed sub surface nodes yeald almost as much as cores, they are just faster to harvest.

Best mining now is drill rocket for LTD and tritium on ltd spot. You will end up half cargo of both in no time. Just look for ANY yellow, inside there will be LTD or tritium. Tripple hole rock gives something like 30-40t in 3-4 mins. So tritium spot just boosts laser mining.

Why? Just... Why?

That's not an issue, that was a feature!

Those ships are only available if you have horizons apparently. I read somewhere that there was a bug where you could buy paint jobs and ship kits etc for these ships even if you didn't have horizons, and therefore couldn't actually own the ships. So, it saves you wasting money on stuff for ships you can't actually own

Why yesterday weekly upkeep was 8 mils +/- today is 17 mils? >: I don't have outfit/shipyard installed. Those could rise a such

I hate the additional noises in the Python (haven't tried my Krait yet). One of them sounds like the noise you get when you have a RAM error. We hates them.

It seems like the Corvette sounds haven't changed.

Just curious, I'm not autistic (I suppose?), but I've always disliked the boost sound of the Krait. How do you deal with that? I have both ships, but I hardly ever fly them, just because of the boost sound. I should probably add that I have pretty good, very linear headphones that don't sugarcoat anything. Their boost noise sounds excessively grumpy, which is fine in the beginning, say the first 20 or so times, but after 100 times at the latest they make me nauseous (and no, it's not just the volume).
Good questions. Interesting the effect it has on you, and sorry it makes you nauseous. That ain't good.

I do like the boost sound of the Krait, but I dislike the sound of the Vulture, especially as it drops out of glide. But that's just personal preference, for me at least.

For me, those new noises in the Krait don't actually mean anything, but they sound as if they should mean something. And they are just too intrusive for that reason. I suppose part of it is that I am used to the 'ambiance' of the Krait cockpit, but now that's changed...I really don't know why they have to change things that work perfectly well....

Also have to moan about the post-patch lack of station Flight Control voices that's been mentioned several times since the update. And also receiving no mission messages in my ship inbox. What messages do show up (a trade beacon mission) can't seem to be deleted. Hope these issues are fixed soon.
Otherwise, all is good here.
Solo player.

Everytime my carrier trys to jump I get a message containing something like "Jump aborded, unknown malfunction". I'm stuck. Any ideas?

What I find amazing is that, like the last time they did a major patch/content update, they did a beta test and then stuck in more things afterwards without putting those things through the testing process. So they have essentially released an untested patch into the wild. Again.

That can't be right....
