Flickering lights on the very edge of my periphery- HTC Vive

Does anyone else have this issue? I'm using an HTC Vive for what it's worth.

There is an odd, almost constant flickering of lights in my peripheral vision... it's very difficult to explain unfortunately, but it's almost like pixels beyond what has already been rendered. I can tune it out, but it's certainly not an issue in any other game. They're even so intense at certain positions that they create god rays, specifically when I'm looking off to my side beyond the panels.

This may explain why I felt like there were more godrays and glaring issues present than there were in previous installments, even in the beta I didn't feel like it was so present.. Never really checked in the beta, but then again, didn't feel like I needed to and that's probably because it wasn't there. After trying 2.1 live just yesterday I felt like godrays were more present than usual but couldn't figure it out, I did notice some light between my eyes and on the edges that shouldn't be there but I thought it was something I had not noticed before, but thinking about it now it may just be this.

Remove the foam pads. They're the only thing saving us from pure epileptic shock. I would love to hear from any Oculus users if this is an issue you're running into as well, or if this is just another lovely Vive exclusive feature.

Anyone care to test this out and report back?

I'm currently using the latest NVIDIA drivers, so my fingers crossed that this is only a driver issue and not an issue with Elite.

It came with 4 beta patch engineers before it was not.

sry for my English :p

No worries!

I just received my Vive last week, so I didn't get a chance to test ED extensively. If this is a problem with the current release of ED and not a driver-related issue, I'd certainly expect to see a LOT more complaints!

If this is going on, I have not noticed it. Could it be only certain Vives/Graphics cards?
I have a Vive (HDMI) with a 390X.

What a terrible disappointment. The game worked fine before this patch. Now I have these horrible flickering things as reported in this thread. It's unplayable.

This on top of the UI fix being actually no fix at all but some invisible hidden      that seems to actually do nothing at all.... wow. I haven't been this disappointed since The Phantom Menace.

That's interesting. Could you try removing the foam pad and testing to see if it's still absent? Typically I've noticed that the foam pad blocks it out by limiting the FOV just enough.

It could very well be a driver issue otherwise.

I have tried to remove the foam. I don't see any colorful lights or flickering in the periphery. Is anyone experiencing this in the AMD camp? I'm on AMD and I can't replicate this. I also tried to mirror to desktop and I'm getting exactly as I expect. No extra dots around the circles. I have the latest AMD drivers.

As a side note, since the full release of 2.1, I now get the heavy aliasing and jittery lines of which many have been complaining. I didn't get them in the beta. Many people said they only got this when starting from steam (which I wasn't) or from starting steamvr first (which I wasn't). Now, it seems it doesn't matter if you start with steam or after steamvr, the bad aliasing has gotten me.

This issue obviously needs to be acknowledged and addressed by Frontier, the lighting wasn't bothering me for a short playtest but after a little while it start to become real apparent and it's very distracting!

So far it feels like with every patch Vive users get screwed over more and more..

Ok, I have rolled back also (to 365.19 from 368.22), will have a look if it's solved any problems.

Edit: Bless you guys! The problem is gone! So it's evidently a problem with the latest drivers!

As a side note, I was playing Crysis in non-VR with 365.19 and had texture drop out and rolled back to 364.72 as it seems to be solid in all my games.
