Frontier: Can you please define your understanding of "Limited"

I could see the passion you guys had on Saturday - there was no doubt about that, and you were running around making everyone happy (least of all, me) - even my girlfriend who doesn't like Sci-Fi or video game really enjoyed the night.

But she's a cross-cultural behavior psychologist who works for some big multi-national companies and major UK banks. She saw something was bothering me last night (because apparently I don't have a poker face) and I explained - she felt this could have been handled better too, especially after how she knew what I was like on Saturday and could see the joy in my face (as she put it). The word she uses is "integrity". To some people it might seem silly that an individual gets heat up about this, but when it comes down to it all that happened was I was a little disappointed and wanted to ensure there was some acknowledgement.

Don't take it personal Ed - for me a simple acknowledgement of what's happened was more than enough to restore some trust.

To be honest, if you came back and said hey, guys, there's big demand to bring back skin x, and we understand some of you might have thought it was limited, but we have lots of request to bring it back, I honestly think most people wouldn't have a big problem, and sometimes it's just a matter of making sure the community feel consulted or whatever.

A simple disclaimer on the product details page should be enough to clear that up in the future. The terms Limited Time/Edition/Exclusive may not carry the same meaning across borders... :)

Personally I appreciated the rerun of this deal as I missed out on it originally as I didn't know if I would fly the Viper. The additional discount was a bit of a poor move in relation to the previous deal however.

On a side note since your here - It would be nice to see some skin packs that include a single skin pattern across all the ship models in the future!

How is this misleading? How in the world digital item can have limited quantity?The time that is on sale is limited, nothing else.

I totally agree with Titus ! Every guy saying "This is business" just keep your mouth shut, except if Frontier cares more about money than to their community. I will never buy a skin again.
Between that and guys who bought an "early access" they will never get because of the 16th Dec full wipe. Frontier, you are disappointing me !

We don't care about money more than our community, but to have a community, or to have a game at all, we've got to keep the business and the game running!

I suppose the free skin pack is a disappointment too?

Clearly some people here would complain that a free pile of gold was too heavy.

A free skin pack is great. It's also not a free ticket to do anything they want without upsetting people. This is a company, they can act in many directions at once. The skin pack was a great gesture, and nice thing to do. The release of the skins previously termed "limited" is considered not nice. They are two separate issues.

And a business is not just accepted to do anything it can to make money. They can do that ethically, or unethically. Saying they are right to do whatever they want, because "business" makes them less responsible for their actions, and leads to increasingly unethical and anti-consumer behavior. People want to do business with FDEV, but they can be driven away by poor business practice.

Free skins weren't the issue though, and everyone loves a freebie (I assume). Anyway, Frontier have responded and it's all cool now
