Frontier - Enough Shoulder Shrugging - Get Tough on Exploits and Exploiters.

You're talking to developers who coded in a built-in exploit into their latest feature - magic afk pips in multi-pew. Literally a pay 2 exploit feature that gives an advantage to those with 2 or more accounts over those with just one.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Right because wings arent free...

Strange to see something as minor as this
(minor as in it's no less game breaking than Robigo, Quince, 17 Drac, gems etc)

as this got people banned and chronic combat loggers and the like get a free pass.

Interesting call there FDev...
Not my game so I can't say to much but it's certainly interesting.

on the plus side. if quince is ok.....then....the PlayStation guys will be up and running in a week after realise and FD can press the "Content" button and give us something to do. :)

ohhh... co'mon......had to say it :D

#1 Don't have an issue with combat loggers trying to protect assets to an unfair attack (trying not to be set back weeks of gameplay)..
#2 Don't have an issue with the Robigos or Sothis or Quince etc.. it's only credits, not game breaking to anyone.
#3 Have an issue with Engineering. That is game breaking. No wonder people resort to #1

Now do the same with credit exploits !

How does someone in solo running Quince or whatever affect anyones game? People money grinding usually are in any other game mode other than OPEN. People engineering weapons, and shooting other people will ONLY be in OPEN.

Hence credit farming (not classifying cash generation as exploiting, as it's perfectly legit ingame, and FDEV can tweak any time they want).

I can see what your saying. and totally understand. I feel the real issue that should be looked at by FD is that these guys kept this exploit to themselves. call me a hippy. :) but I really thing kicking someone from a game should be reserved for grander things than a RNG roll.

Isn't it obvious?

They keep it to themselves so only they can use it.

They do this so they can have an exploited advantage over other players.

I mean that's it right, doesn't need an investigation does it?

If you use the credits and rank gained in solo to by a Cutter that you cheat engineer and use it to kill players or affect the BGS it's not very nice, is it?

To be clear from the offset

But exploiters that make fast credits according to the forums professionals are no good pilots because they did not spend the 20+ years grinding to get their Elite "end game ship" and don't know how to pilot of combat, so how is that a noob exploiter is going to GIT GUD at killing others???

"Just like liberals dems the argument just hits you right back in your face" roflmao.

What are you doing on about?

Han Zen is saying assets gained in solo can be used in other game modes.

Despite the post from ed, the MOST that will happen is
1) they stop the exploit
2) say offenders hsve been punished - but never provide details of how or who since they havent really punished anyone

Ive seen it way too many times before in way too many online games

It's a strawman argument.

credits and rank gained in solo to buy a Cutter will affect nothing.

a Cutter that you cheat engineer and use it to kill players will negatively affect players and is a bannable action (and should be).

Affecting a BGS can take place in any mode, by anyone, in any ship, so it's not a fair argument.

I never killed a commander, so I would not know about gitting good.
I haven't grinded anything either, so I don't know how much time it takes to get rich.

All I'm saying is that those that have cheated with engineers have probably used money exploits to.

If FD wants to keep any credibility they need to apply examplary punishment to whoever abused this exploits on a regular basis.

Random PvP in open, events like Premonition, most likely Pvp tournaments, faction vs faction PvP battles, everything was poisoned by this.

How does someone exploiting eng mods effect solo players ?
They are the same lvl of exploit.

Mod exploiting affects the balance of ships. Someone cheesing missions to buy an A rate cutter, just gives them an A rate cutter. Doesn't affect their skill, and will probably be cat food in OPEN for anyone that knows anything about PvP..

and if that person who modded their ship with exploits stays in solo? Well, he / she isn't affect anyones game experience.

Yes it is obvious. ofcouse I see why thay kept it quiet. that's not what I meant. :). I just feel that banning people from the game is not the answer for this crime. and it IS a crime. and it WAS done intentionally...and it WAS cept quiet for there own advancement. but......i still don't feel it's worth an account ban. agane....hippy I may be. but useing a hammer to squash one ant when you have a nest is overkill.

There's only one solution, it's in my sig.

I do agree. To this day, I've never done more than a grd-1 roll.

And by grd-1, I mean actual grd-1, not the cheat people have been doing.

I don't think players can be trusted.

A better solution. Wipe the saves of offenders, not ban them. The caveat? Blacklist their accounts so they are denied docking privileges at engineering bases.

They can play, but they can kiss goodbye to their ill-gotten gains.

I think this would be the best for Frontier to say enough is enough.
