Frontier: give the FSD to ALL players, regardless of whether they took part or not

Dear Camelot,

Please give me a share in last Saturday's jackpot rollover win.
I didn't win, despite spending all my money on lotto tickets, but I think I deserve a share of the jackpot for simply participating. To not give me and everyone else who bought lotto tickets, a share of the jackpot would be unfair. It would be bad PR considering you have constantly changed the price of a ticket, or the win conditions.

Here's hoping you see sense,

Yours sincerely
N. Titled Gamer.

I didn't earn it.

I think Frontier were wrong in broadening the goalposts to 75%, but giving it to all participants trivialises the efforts of the 25%. Don't compound the error.

Yes.
  • Grandfathered effects
  • Insurance reduction
  • Cobrak Mk IV (just joking)

And even the stuff that everyone can achieve is kind of exclusive. For example, I can't build a trade capable murder boat.
My fear is the latest greatest combat-trade-exploration build could be exclusive modules.
I think any exclusive modules should be available after a period of time or locked behind rank or permits.

And you had to say that... Imagine those replacing random canisters on the plant surface... You collect those as normal but need ARX to purchase opening service/unlock code..
No, Fdev will go the Elder Scrolls Blades route of only letting you have a few crates and they are all on wait timers to open unless you spend ARX, shudders

You have - inadvertently I'm sure - penalised all those players that played by YOUR rules.

Many of them are now effectively worse off. Specifically:

1. Those that didn't bother to enter the CG as they knew they wouldn't have the time to reach the top 25%.
2. Those that entered but quit before 75% for the same reason.

If you are interested in being perceived to be fair (actually, just being fair!), and if you want to retain confidence, you should hand it out to everyone, and give the top 25% a paintjob or something, so at least their effort is rewarded.

"Can't be bothered"

Seems to say it all really.

If you can't be bothered then why should you get the prize?

Hmmm.

Last night, I went to the store, and bought lottery tickets.

This does not mean I am guaranteed to win anything. Without buying the lottery tickets, I am guaranteed to not win the lottery.

The 5A FSD is just winning a free, trivial, prize. No more.

Unpacking the groceries was grindy...

What if the reward tier went the other direction? Not as many people participated, so there's no harm in giving the FSD Reward to only the top 10 contributors, right?
Especially if you learn that they change that reward tier After the whole thing is said and done, completed and you can't put a lick more progress into it.

You don't change the rules of an event like a Football game or a Community Goal during or after.

We couldn't be bothered to get into the 25%. We could have been bothered to get into the 75%. We played by the rules, the rules changed, we get ed by the rule change.

Keep your FSD, give me a cat.

And no, I didn't take part in the CG because I was on important cat business miles from any of the CG locations.

If I don't get something, I'll see you in court.

It's a funny one this. I fancied the FSD prize but knew I'd not be able to put the time in to ensure I was in the top 25% So, I did not take part. I could readily have managed to top 75% or even 50% I expect, so I would have taken part if the top 75% getting the prize was what was advertised.. It was not, so I did not take part due to the stated rules. In essence, not that I'm really that fussed, I have lost that Engineered FSD due to FDev changing the rules after the event. I hope this hasn't made a president. Complain? Ok, EVERYONE gets first prize lol.

I hope FDev make the rules and stick by them in future, the better the prize the higher the % needed to qualify. Perhaps have tiered prizes. Top 25% get Double Engineered special prize, others get decent single Engineered prize. Sure, the lesser prize could be bought and Engineered by the player anyway, but the time and material saving still makes it an item of worth.

Scoob.

Make it available in Jameson Memorial only, for a substantial price after a period of time.
At the very least players have to earn Elite status then, it retains some exclusivity, and it’s not locked behind a once only competition.

When you're out in the black using an FSD instead of doing CGs to get FSDs... :p

I don't really mind either way; in general though, I'm not a fan of exclusives and participation awards in video games. "Play your own way," legitimately, and all that. YMMV

Cheers.

I suppose you want all the decals from the previous CGs too?
