Frontier: give the FSD to ALL players, regardless of whether they took part or not

Because FD have no way of knowing who has lost out they can only fix it with a broad stroke of the brush.
Sorry, but you're wrong. Frontier absolutely can see who took part. They keep data on everything everyone does in the game.
You've been here long enough, you might remember a long time ago, there was an engineering exploit. Frontier corrected the exploit and removed all the modules from players who used the exploit to get unfairly acquired module(s).

So to say Frontier don't know who took part in a CG, is simply incorrect.

Read the first post. You getting it would simply be collateral damage. Or they can run another CG, or whatever, they just need to rectify it for those that they did over when they changed the rules after the event.
I can see this is a circular argument...
Although I agree that they should redo the event - but exclude those who participated and gained the module, for 'fairness'.

300 jumps from the bubble and just heard about this.

Hmm.

Is this drive any good anyway? And if it is, how is this part of game balancing?

Sheesh.

Because FD have no way of knowing who has lost out they can only fix it with a broad stroke of the brush.

Seems to me that the only people who 'missed out' are the people who put in the effort to get to the 25% tier, the 'unfairness' is giving the reward to those that didn't make it.

And yes, FDec know exactly who took part and did what - how else could they hand out rewards?

The only real issue I see in this situation is FDev's lack of spine.

It should have been 75% from the off like previous CGs. Those at the top get paid more and have bragging rights of being in the Top 10 or 10%.
To fly out there and help with the Community Goal is reflected in the credits you earn. The FSD is the icing on the cake just like protecting an engineer accused of terrorism in return for a heat seeker missile. That overwhelmingly went in the Federation's favour regardless of moral standing. She was probably guilty but a free module overlooked that issue.
That CG was one of the busiest I've seen.

So many Commanders have so many credits now that the CGs sometimes get overlooked as there are little rewards other than credits. Even explorers have stated how gutted they are to miss out on the newer goodies to be earned in CGs now as they're so far out in the black.
The CGs are definitely better when there something to be gained for all your time and efforts. Just showing up is not an incentive.

In this case, I believe FDev should reluctantly give out the FSD to all that signed up for the CG this time.
In future, be consistent and clear on what level triggers the reward as we don't want to see incentive taken away by lowering the bar to low, that CGs don't get to Tier 5 or even end.
I suggest a 50% level to receive the bonus reward, that is easily achievable for Commanders to aim for and maintain for the duration of the CG.
I also suggest permit locking the CG system to stop Fleet Carriers jamming up the Nav Panel and causing persistent lagging. Maybe allow a handful of them that have Services available to ALL to allow players to refuel, repair and restock, so they can get back into the CG quicker.

I don't know many explorers that are 'gutted' by this.. I'm not and the bonus engineering to the FSD isn't all that great for my uses.

I don't think a top % level is the right answer at all, it should be a set minimum limit, this way everyone has the same chance of getting these "special" gifts
for the last trade CG changing 25% to 75% meant that limit went from over 10K tons to under 1k (660 from memory? that's 1 trip)

they have the numbers to able to work out a tough but achievable limit for everyone to aim for
the tiers and monetary reward can be glory

That suggestion would create a much 'fairer' event - I like it 👍

Just showing up is not an incentive.
Its a Community Goal, yes it is.

we don't want to see incentive taken away by lowering the bar to low, that CGs don't get to Tier 5 or even end.
And if 4 new Station,3 new Mat Traders, extended range of ships & mining outfitting aint gonna cut it for you as everyone benefits from them, then just stay away. We managed without the non-contributors this time, the ones who werent willing to help the Community at all unless it was for personal gain.

Thank you all the small ships who didnt get 75% but did help the Goal to complete.

Basic maths, if half the participants cant achieve it no matter what they do, its not easy. How easy it for a 2T Sidey to deliver 750T ?

I just made it up and stated it as though it was fact, I thought thats how things were done here, my bad :)

I liked how it made sense though the 3B for combat, you should be getting it today if not already, Id give it til a relog after tick before I........well Id just sigh tbh and wait knowing Ill get it eventually, Id let others get steamed and shout about it to Frontier so they know.

Bunch of hipocrytes.
Half the playerbase kept whining and crying till they got the FSD for literally NO effort.
Now the 25% want something for their effort (and this CG was effort stayin in the top 25%) and yall call em whiners lmao

You have - inadvertently I'm sure - penalised all those players that played by YOUR rules.

Many of them are now effectively worse off. Specifically:

1. Those that didn't bother to enter the CG as they knew they wouldn't have the time to reach the top 25%.
2. Those that entered but quit before 75% for the same reason.

If you are interested in being perceived to be fair (actually, just being fair!), and if you want to retain confidence, you should hand it out to everyone, and give the top 25% a paintjob or something, so at least their effort is rewarded.

My God we're getting particularly obnoxious as players...
