Frontier: give the FSD to ALL players, regardless of whether they took part or not

And so? You want a reward for being a quitter? Good one. But now I want the Missile Launcher from the previous CG - the one that I didn't participate in because I was doing something else. These are all choices made by players, are you making FDev responsible for their choices?

The rules for the rewards for that CG didn't change after that CG ended.
The rules for the rewards for this one did. That's what people are up in arms about; If you're gonna run an event with a specific set of rules, you stick with them.

I'm well aware of that.. I'm also well aware that it happened due to player whinging. And they are whining due to their own poor planning. OP seems to want everyone to get the FSD. That's a no from me.. I'm also less than impressed at FDev changing the goalposts after the event - although there is a history of CG's goalposts moving, it's just happened while the CG was in progress

FD don't know who elected to not take part due to realising they couldn't make the 25% (but could have made the 75%, if they'd known).

They also don't know who of those that finished between 100 and 75% withdrew after realising that they wouldn't make it.

They also don't know who elected to only compete in one of the CGs instead of both, after realising they wouldn't have time for both.

They also don't know who elected to compete on only one account instead of two or more, for the same reason.
I don't know what Elvis is going to have to say about al this...

I think plenty of people understand the 'issue', they just don't agree that it is an issue.

This thread is an example of why I don't hire people under 30, their sense of entitlement in the workplace is over the top. Never mind that it's not much better than I already have.
Would you hire someone more than twice that age? Please?? :)

I agree with you.
I want the Holographic Thargoid Bobblehead, but you don't see me making threads whinging about not getting it when it was available.
(and yes, I honestly do want that bobblehead)

This game and specially this forum is full of spoiled brats in the later ages..
Disgrace
At least CoD has the excuse their playerbase is made from kids.

The main problem is not the age,but the "neuron level" wich seems lacking a lot in your case, get some booster ;)

I'm somewhere between heart and soul nebulas and out of the loop. This unique CG-exclusiveFSD.. How does it differ from ones available via Engineering?

It has 2 engineered effect, giving to my phantom something around 4Ly jumping bonus, and a 2s boot time that is relevant only for very specific build.

They got hope now though, its been changed once so now all bets are off, forever, every single CG and anything could potentially be changed afterwards with enough drama...well for a long time anyway probably until people give up again.

+ this. this does not only affect the 75%, 50%, 25% and the 10% of those who participated on the CG, it also affected those who disn’t participate and was discouraged from the beginning to participate due to the steep top tier requirement which is I would assume a huge variable given the number of active ED players.

Look, this is getting silly.

OK, I can kind of agree that Frontier changing it from 25% to 75% may not have been the wisest idea, but it was done in the spirit of giving more players an exclusive reward.
That a minority have decided to be greedy and ask for more from Frontier, is offensive to me. If you need an example of why Frontier stopped doing stuff for the community (and may stop again) this is it.

You've said this affects those who didn't participate and were discouraged. No, it doesn't affect them. I am one of those, I was discouraged and I CHOSE to not take part. Key word there, I made a choice. By making that choice, I accepted I was not going to get it. I don't regret that decision. Given that the CG ended early, I doubt those who chose not to participate, would have made any difference if they had.

And then we come to the harsh reality of, if you didn't win, you don't get the prize. If some of us run a 100 metre sprint, and I come 2nd, would it be acceptable for me to request/demand the gold medal? What if I chose not take part in the race and sat in the crowd? Should I get the gold medal then? That is the level of stupidity this tantrum is at.

As usual there is a group in this community who sour its reputation in the wider gaming community, thanks for nothing.

This is not really an accurate analogy. Personally, my gameplay choice was never affected. I ended up top 10% in the AX CG and did not participate in the hauling.

I do however understand that many more might have chosen to participate had the requirements not been so steep.

A more accurate analogy with a 100m race would be a race where it is stated that the winner gets $1000. However, you would need to travel a significant distnce to participate and you have it on good authority that Usain Bolt is going to participate. You don’t like your chances so you do not go out of your way to participate just to be blown away by Bolt. After the race is run, the organizers change the rules so that anyone running sub 20 seconds gets $1000. Had you known the actual requirements you may have participated.

That you were one of the ones sitting in the crowd does not make you a spokesperson for everyone in the crowd. I guess I am Usain Bolt in the above so it really doesn’t affect me one way or the other, but I can see how peoole that chose not to participate based on the stated requirements would feel fooled.

If you are going to change the requirements after the fact, you give the FSD to everyone instead of putting a new arbitrary cutoff.

I agree with your analogy but disagree that everyone is entitled to the reward.

Honestly I’d just be happy if they have us the damn thing at all.

I was well within the threshold for the combat portion and I still don’t have it lol.

Still, for the love of god, everyone stop whining. These rewards are cool, and give everyone more incentive to participate in community goals. I’d hate to see them disappear because feelings are hurt.

Well, my argument is that either you give it to the top 25%, keeping the original cutoff, or you give it to everyone (I would be fine with either). Introducing a new arbitrary cutoff at 75% is just silly. In particular as, unlike in the analogy, it would not really cost them anything to give it to everyone so there is no "only enough money for top 75%" issue.
