Livestream Frontier Xtra - Question of the Month - March

Paige Harvey

Community Manager
Hello everyone,

As this month's Frontier Xtra livestream draws closer, we're looking for our Question of the Month!

What do you want to know about the games industry, Frontier itself, or the Community Managers/Developers? This is your chance to get some insight into the games industry as a whole, and learn all about what it's like, how to get into it or anything else you may be wondering. We dedicate this section of the stream to answering one of your questions, so providing it's relevant to the games industry, please put your questions in this thread and we'll pick this month's favourite to discuss.

If you're struggling for ideas on what to ask, previous questions have asked for information on different ways to get into the industry, what kind of preparation goes into a livestream, and what's a day in the life of a Community Manager at Frontier.

The next Frontier Xtra is 22 March at 15:00 UTC, we can't wait to see you there!

Is it possible for players to find Raxxla, in the current version of Elite: Dangerous? Many players believe that the solution to this great mystery is hidden or locked, via "dev magic".

Powerplay is meant to be factional warfare and encourage conflict between players in open. Right now there is a lot of hauling and intra-power sabotage that is happening from solo and private groups that cannot be countered, unless groups participate in an endless grindfest that costs literal millions of credits with a negative net return from rating rewards each cycle, not to mention the lack of real rewards or purpose from participating in PP aside from very niche weapons that can be unlocked with minimal participation.

Do you plan to address the issues in Powerplay and give the mode some much needed love (it hasn't been updated for literal years) or are you happy with Powerplay as it is?

Or you could subscribe or watch on twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/384880627

No.

I’m not new to FD but what if I was? If FD wants to engage with the gaming community they are limiting themselves by not making content available elsewhere when they have the ability to do so.

It’s incumbent upon FD to make their content available on all the social media outlets that they use. It’s a ridiculous notion that the FD community managers should silo their content on only a few social platforms and go essentially dark on other outlets.

this is a dev kinda question I'd be interested to know, your P2P network is really great, have you thought about using block-chain technology to shore up the security and prevent network based hacking. Block chain techs' original design goal was to ensure all 'transactions' between peers are legit. It would be an interesting way to combat any network based cheating and a nice way to minimize server overheads by allowing the peers to legitimize their own network actions

How large a number - or percentage - of the total unknown/Mystery Things(TM) in Elite have the players found to date? Counting Raxxla and no doubt other locations/objects et cetera.
