Noooo! Someone increase the share price quickly!
I'd be like this in the meetings

One thing this crash makes me realize is that we were wrong the whole time: the Market and Institutional Investors actually read the forums and take good notes of all doomers' inputs, like Ship Interiors and ELW. We didn't listen guys.......

I will be looking forward to threads on the ED Forums that will link this dip to something in the game like, I don't know, not having fixed the non-hostile ships bug, fire groups, or something as trivial, that was not fixed by the first week of January.

When you study investments there is a saying. An efficient market is rational.

When you consider that its human decisions behind trades, its anything but rational.

These days, with bots making lots of trade, and having worked in the industry, it amazes me the whole thing hasn't gone belly up years ago!

I'm a noob, how does this work, if we forumers buy enough FDev shares, can we send a representative to their 'Decision Board' and ask to not get Ship Interiors?
Yes this is possible. You will need to obtain a minority share.

However you would have to convince that the changes you are proposing for ED are actually a good financial plan to the other major holder and the board. Just wanting something is not enough.

Considering the new JWE sold a million(!) copies since launch I can guarantee you that ED is not the most important asset of Fdev anymore (and has not been for a while now)

Seriously, if anyone is a broker/trader, she asks, is it a good time to buy their stocks?
It's a company that's grown weaker since it got massive pandemicbux from investors looking to ride the gaming wave back around March 2020, is still significantly inflated above where that began despite heading towards a financial year of negative earnings, has decided to sideline err "nurture" its two big hits which are both currently struggling while expanding its portfolio, and that expansion will be into licensed games (F1, Warhammer) while having just posted a loss they attribute to betting big on licensing. They're also trying to get their Frontier Foundry publishing wing off the ground and have managed to attract literally zero user posts to the forum of the game they're acting as publisher for (big news today that it releases within 5 months, except no one reported it), and you probably never even heard of their last one.

So, I'd say uhh no. Nooo. Nope. They've taken on obligations over the next 2-3 years that will keep them from undoing their mistakes, so even if they ultimately do well somehow, it won't be for a while. But then I'm not a cool TV trader with sound effects, props, and wise-sounding phrases like "support levels", so what do I know.

Thanks for the explanation and for keeping the flame alive.

At first I just said "ask" stuffs at the Board, not hoping to get them, but just to be annoying, like we do in the forum.

But re-thinking this, if we ally our forces, doomers and fan-boys together, we got the best negotiators team ever. After listening our hundreds of contradictory opinions, they'll totally give up and sell us their shares.

Code:
Our team continues to grow, with over 250 people joining us during 2021, taking us to a total headcount of 745 as at 31 December 2021.
What? A fluctuation of one third of the staff or an increase by half in just one year? Either one is not healthy.
It says 250 new people joined. It does not tell how many left in the same time period. However you can gain that knowledge by the 745 headcount at 31-12

Gaining a lot more staff can be considered bullish.

Yes not a single holder;
The drop on OPEN is from 1770 to 1500. Then another drop. Fairly stable around 1350 after that.. I do not have a subscription like you so it is a bit of a guess

Who cares?

Yet another pathetic thread about nothing in particular or important.

It's a great thread to illustrate how the people who post this stuff understand absolutely zero about stock markets and equities trading.

What did stock markets generally and globally do yesterday? What was the price of equities doing relative to other markets/shares/sectors?

While people here sit around complaining about FD's share price as if it's some bell-weather indicator of the game (how dumb) I made multiple thousand dollars in half an hour this week because I actually use the market(s) to advantage rather than as a whinge factory for hating FD.

I haven't lost any capital on the markets, ever, except when everyone did during the last GFC.

A thread based on pathetic ignorance.

And even without that, if you're smart enough you can find plenty of videos on YouTube about "Making 10K a week with just 5 simple tricks".
Anyone who does that is basically day trading which is high-risk and in this "game" risk assessment is king.

When I open a position it's usually a "long game" position that can take months to mature.

I don't day trade.

Here's a simple rule that should be applied to shares in markets; particularly in the current geopolitical/geo-economic landscape:

If you're not in a position where you can possibly lose 20-30 percent of the value of your shares overnight... well you've got a problem.

Shares and markets don't exist in isolation from other shares and markets.

People who think share trading is quick, free money don't really understand capitalism. People who think that way have been sucked in by the lies that they think is capitalism, not what the "game" really is about or how it works.

So the stock price dropped from 1800 to 1400 and that means nothing because you made multiple thousands of dollars in the market in one half hour this week. Hmmm.

I do not mean to infer that the quality of this one FDEV product had any role in the drop of the stock price.

I do mean to suggest that if there are other forces that affected this specific stock price, other than those detailed in the Motley Fool article, I'd like to hear specifically what those factors were as they pertained to FDEV from your point of view.
