When I identify a world with the FSS is there an indication that it's terraformable, or is the only way to know by looking in the system map?

Only exceptions are those when you arrive in new (for you) galactic region and you get your Codex notification of first such scanned (by you in that particular region).
*or external tools, like EDDiscovery, Elite Observatory etc.
As usual, the most important info is always in the footnotes
While I am out exploring, I always have EDD running and open on my second monitor.

With alot of experience, the combination of Body type, Temperature and Atmospheric composition + pressure often gives it away.
But as others already said, to get definitive Info it is required to at least check the System Map after the FSS.

Thank you all. It seems like a strange omission but I suppose it allows for hardcore exploring where you work it out from the parameters, as Falcon Fly desscribes.
