Galaxy map + FSD boost

Ok, so disclaimer first: I don’t know what I’m talking about!

However, I’m seeing behaviour when plotting routes on the galaxy map that doesn’t seem to ring true to me.

If I plot a route with economic option, I get a large number of jumps. That’s fine.

If I plot a faster route I get less. Still fine.

If I plot a route with FSD boost (set at any level), I get the same route as above, but it just moves my fuel star on a bit. I don’t get a route based on the extra available distance created from the boost.

What am I doing wrong or what am I missing!! Help?!

FSD synthesis does two things, either increase your single plot jump range up to 100%, or decreases fuel required if active but jumping at your standard range.

So, does that mean you have to manually plot the route if you want to use it to go further?

Neutron boosts will plot a longer jump, synthesis has always been manually plotting each jump. Tbh I always use synthesis for single jumps or to avoid a multi jump, so haven't bothered to test the route plotter logic in detail. All I know is it will plot as normal and give you the fuel saving.

So, it appears to be by design. I was hoping to use (my interpretation) of its functionality to reduce the jumps required for those 20 or so jump routes one does often. Neutron boosts are great but only where there is one!
