THARGOIDS REPULSED BY OPERATION TYNDAREUS

13 OCT 3308
Pilots’ Federation ALERT
Allied forces have successfully defended the Andecavi system from Thargoid vessels.
The defence operation was centred around the megaship Kumiho Sky, which hosted the Alliance and Sirius Corporation’s joint anti-xeno taskforce. A declaration of victory was made by Admiral Nikolas Glass:
“Operation Tyndareus is officially a triumph! Alliance Defence Force and Sirius Navy crews have fought side by side to protect the people of Andecavi from the Thargoids. The aliens withdrew from the system en masse, following several days of hard fighting.”
“The taskforce was ably supported by many freelance pilots and AX squadrons, who can now claim their rewards from the Kumiho Sky. These include unique pre-engineered heatsink modules for qualifying xeno-hunters. In addition, the modules will shortly be commercially available via official Sirius Corporation technology brokers.”
Prime Minister Edmund Mahon expressed gratitude to all those who took part, remarking that the long delays in making the strategic defence pact a reality “have finally proved to be worthwhile”.
In response, Councillor Nakato Kaine highlighted reports from witnesses that many Thargoid vessels withdrew into hyperspace before human forces overwhelmed them. She added:
“Would the result in Andecavi have been any different without Sirius Corporation’s involvement? We have seen the Thargoids retreat while several conflicts were still evenly matched, just as in several other systems recently. Did this military pact deliver anything that the ADF could not have achieved alone?”

Quite excited about the addition of the new heat sinks to Tech brokers.

Interesting how they are noting the way thargoids often seem to retreat after 7 days. Of course, maybe they count differently, and they start at 1 rather than zero, in which case they always Retreat on the 8th day. Eight days? 8 tentacles? It's all coming together.

As long as ADF (or anyone else for that matter) also had double engineered modules to offer the results would have been the same. Let’s not kid ourselves, there’s no story here, just gamers looking for loot.

To be fair, most decent lifeforms will be repulsed by operation Tyndareus and the terrible treatment the Thargoids have received at the hands of the human invaders.

This conflict has been going on for years. They know what our strength is, and they know it's vastly less than theirs. They let Salvation build his glorious superweapon as a demonstration of that. These are demonstrations too.

Bets on the Empire being the one to figure it out, vs them just completing the set of superpowers declaring victory over an opponent that left of its own volition? Patreus's last appearance was unusually clear-headed, we'll see if he can keep it up.

I am pretty much convinced before Salvation we were not dealing with an actual intellect but only worker drones running as mining operation. That's why they were predictable and easily manipulated. Now the hive took notice.

Eh, I think the Thargoids taking more notice of us can be true without the prior bits. There have been several shifts in the Thargoids behaviour long before now, and the manipulation probably depends on what conspiracy theories you subscribe to and how the outcome is viewed on the Thargoid end.

Meanwhile, at Thargoid HQ:
"Excellent, our latest sockpuppet incursion worked as expected. Wherever we say BOO*, they appear and react in their usual way. Let's try it once more and see if they keep falling for it."

*Might sound different in Thargoid

And where can I obtain the heatsinks? I was in the top50%, but when I claimed for the rewards in the MegaShip they only gave me the credits... I don't see any modules in the station :(
they will probably appear in the game tomorrow - you'll have to transfer them to your location from any outfitting shop
