GALNET - 24 NOV 3308 - KINGFISHER MEGASHIP VANISHES

I must be missing something here. I've been in and out of this system, visiting the Kingfisher, three times now (currently sitting next to it). Not a single Thargoid spotted...

Edit: Just moved out of the system again. Still none...
How long are you sticking around? I logged in at the wreckage and had one drop in after about a minute or so.

After engaging I was quickly out numbered so I skedaddled away like Brave Sir Robin. I tried to follow another Cmdr in to see if we could team up but wasn't there when I dropped in.

First time probably about half an hour. Second and third...maybe 15-20mins each. None of them were brief visits...

So next week 8 systems will probably be as dangerous as HIP 22460. I guess folks should leave their Guardian modules/weapons somewhere outside the bubble and pack standard AX.
Guardian modules only degrade in that system due to the Proteus wave still functioning. The presence of the Stargoids has no noticeable effect.

😧 Wow ... I dropped in maybe half a dozen times this morning and had Thargoids within a minute and a half each time. Had to get the logs in two trips and there was no way I had enough time to use recon limpets on the data ports.

Don't understand this. I didn't see anything last night, or early this morning.

Haven't been back yet today. But I'll pop back later and see what happens.

Out of interest, not that it should make the blindest bit of difference, are you guys in Open or Solo? I'm running in Solo.

I was in Open, nobody in the instance with me tho.

Okay. Just arrived back at the Kingfisher. Dropped on the ship at 18:29:12

This time, at approx 18:30:55 I get a Frame Shift Anomaly Detected alert. Boost out a couple of times, but still got disabled. No attack, and Igo SC as soon as the ship comes back online.

Videoed it and will post if anyone's the slightest bit interested.

Anyway, it seems that I was just strangely lucky the other few times.

Or, it's...because I removed the Xeno-handsake logo from my ship since the last visits. Hmm....

;)

Open as well and not that it matters but I have Guardian weapons and modules too.

Nah I doubt that is it, I have a "My other ship is an Interceptor" bumper sticker and still get attacked

Glad to see they showed up for you...er maybe not glad I guess but you know what I mean;)
:)

Note that you don't have to go to the Kingfisher, just drop out of supercruise anywhere in the system and wait.
Im wondering if thats the major galactic change, if Thargoids turn up after x minutes it will make ED like Elite 1 basically a probable warzone. For all of us the Thargoid war will be continuing once again just this time we cant do much to them because the weapons are either/or 🤔

We don't know that it was "just" the Proteus wave. Could be a secret weapon "signal" of the Stargoids that was just relayed by the wave. We will see what FDev comes up with once the update drops, everything else is speculation, anyway. Which is part of the fun.

BTW: I was at the Kingfisher yesterday and there was no interdiction at all, also no goid anywhere to see. I've been there quite some time without anything of note. Perhaps the current situation was rolled out recently, or is somehow time-dependent. Which could make for interesting scenarios in the future.

I can't see that happening everywhere because it would interfere with a lot of other regular gameplay. For example if you disembark on a planet and your ship is destroyed, you're basically permanently stuck there because APEX can't handle being attacked by interceptors.
