ANNOUNCEMENT Game Balancing Pt.3

I’ve been playing the game for about 7 months now and I feel bad for new players because you left them no room to grow .
New players can’t fight Thargoids with a sidewinder, they can’t bounty hunting in a adder you tried to get new people by making the game free however most of them will quit after they get sent to the REBUY screen while they don’t have no money .

Except for mining* that was hit by a big nerf, everything else was vastly increased. 4x to be precisely

Sure, i pretty much preferred the old status were not every activity was burying the player in credits, but if someone wanted to make a buck they had a solid option to do that.
Guess they thought people just need more credits at a slower but constant rate instead of short bursts of mining frenzy.
So? Base building in Odyssey? 10bn a Planetary Outpost and 25bn a planetary Starport?

*(delivery missions were also killed) - but i guess that was to be expected.

Elite dangerous isn’t about money .
I can gave you 100 billion CR right now and you can’t even beat my engineer sidewinder with your anaconda my point is this isn’t rebalancing this is nerfing .

If you are still in the starter sidewinder the rebuy is free...
Thargoid scouts can be killed with conventional weapons...

Frontier didn't make the game free, Epic Games did...

Away from the Xeno e-peen and the Hotel California for a minute:

Any chance of cutting FC upkeep by a factor of four or are we all expected to indulge in combat to provide the credits now?

(Trade mission payouts suck the big falota now.)

Regarding delivery missions, they've been utterly flattened...like not worth bothering with at all kind of flattened. Follow on missions I got were paying out between 1-1.5mil for a few tonnes and a short hop...now they are paying around 10k. The big deliveries going one jump to a station 250k ls+ are paying about 20% of what they were paying yesterday.

I understand the need to balance but this is a huge nerf....40-50% reduction would have brought them back to where they should be but this heavy handed 80%+ nerf has made deliveries very unattractive...was that the goal?

Standard A-->B trading using favorable states are still quite profitable. I just made close to 600 million in a little over an hour. Once I grab a bowl of chili I'll probably do another half billion before jumping to a system for combat. All told 150-200 million an hour state trading including loading/offloading times is achievable without using trade missions.

May be it just me but, these days every where I look it's raining credits.

I would also like some chilli. I hope you made enough for everyone. 🧐

600m an hour....you've done it now sunshine....I can almost hear the sickening thud as trading takes an elephant sized nerf bat to the head.

I think payments for AX will be too big. I understand the risk but with good build and a little bit of skill you can easily instakill solo Cyclop or Basilisk in one wing. Alone in can kill this way around 30 Cyclops per hour. From my experience in flying as part of wing with a little less experienced pilots I expect around 15-20 Basilisk in same time that would give each of 4 players in a wing a money for new fleet carrier after around 10-12h of play.
Based on a video I've seen, you can Shotgun a Cyclops in a minute. However:
This implies that you can find and fly to a NHSS 5 within one minute, and it always contains a solo cyclops.
From my last experience, only 1 out of 3 NHSS 5 did contain a solo cyclops.
So if you happen to be super lucky and able to chain 30 NHSS5 with always a single Cyclops in it, I'd say you truly deserve your 240m credits.
I think 10 cyclops are a more plausible number, which would result in 80m for a solo pilot. Still a decent coin right there.

So I don't understand complains, that "new player cannot do anything, even BH in adder, and he will quit after caboom without cash on rebuy".
He can. He can do all things if we will exclude pvp. My friend soloed cyclop 2 weeks after buying game. Without any engineers, with dropship. So new player can do all things, "skill is the limit".

Wow crazy I had no idea Epic could just take other companies' games and Make Them Free. That's some next level stuff. I guess they both have TenCent in common, though, so maybe that's how that works.

Yeah I'd have to concur with that. They got hit so hard you can now run bulk trading routes that pay more cr/t, with none of the mission-related downsides like mission board RNG, unused capacity or needing rep/rank. Deliveries are now effectively dead space on the board pushing off useful missions.

Wow, such a hangup on Tencent :ROFLMAO:
Weren't you aware Epic games gave away Elite Dangerous for a week - it brought thousands of new players into the starter area, some had never even played before...
Do keep up with the times, old chap...

And Frontier has no responsibility or agency in this, according to you. According to you, it's erroneous to say that Frontier made the game free. Theyyyyyy didn't do it, Epic Games did it!

That's what I'm responding to, here.

Epic games gave the game away for free... Difficult to understand, I know... and I didn't say Frontier made the game free, but there was obviously some agreement between themselves and Epic which as a player I don't let myself be bothered with...
