ANNOUNCEMENT Game Balancing Pt.3

many of us have several AX ships.
I have 20 ships to combat again human ships, but it doesn't mean, that pve again humans cost billions.
Few expensive ships is only your choice.
But I can agree with rebuys, and partially mats, if you want be efficient you need mats for engineers, and synthesis for medusa/hydras (it could be done without it in wing, but ok, alle things must be avaliable for solo player, so pain for solo hydras :)

For 2 (3?) weeks I had 1-jump cargo missions, paying out between 20M and 37M.... I praised FD for their action a few days ago in another thread, since this state finally compared a bit to earnings from mining. Since yesterday, most mission max payouts are around 4...6M. I am happy I milked the out of it before the "rebalacing", kinda expected this would happen, knowing/following FD since 2014.

Got say am loving the new payouts on the Xeno combat bonds it’s finally good to be actually making decent money while doing some I really enjoy in Elite. I do have one concern though that instant killing (Gibbing) clops is going to be abused now is there going to be a fix on this so that it doesn’t be exploited?

I do think the lower bound for transport missions needs to be bumped up. In Shinrarta, for example, I'm seeing missions asking me to move 180 commodities for 200k. That's not much for a mission like that.

Personally, I think the commodity being moved should have little to no bearing on the price at all. Why would it? It's not relevant to you moving it somewhere.
Agreed, I mean pirate npc will attempt to steal even crap (literally) from us. It would be a different story if value of cargo affected if and how often You would be intercepted by pirates. Higher risk - higher payout. Personally when I used to pull ships to steal their stuff, if it was rubbish, I would move on.

20-40m from haul mission was absurd, sorry bro, that you milked for only few days, not months, as from mining :(
I love this kind of people, which exploit all new goldrushes, and think, that everyting need buff to level of old mining. I have better idea- remove credits, and instagib all possible ships, modules and carrier :D

So was the mining rush, a lot of people enjoyed the mining payouts, I missed that oppertunity since I stoppped playing the game in 2015 and only followed the developments from youtube, I started again about 3 months ago when FC was introduced. My point is, mining and missions were both somewhat equal pay outs for a short while. In absolute terms, it is absurd in both cases, because it did not compare to exploration & combat payouts. I wonder why are you butthurt that I took advantage of the high mission payout for the little while it lasted? It's not an exploit either, your definition of an exploit is wrong. I remember again why I left FD forums and followed developments on youtube isntead, its exactly because of people like you. You may keep your smileys buddy.

It would appear that, far from balancing the mission rewards, they have become virtually worthless. FDev said they were rebalancing rewards for mining materials but appear to have nerfed all delivery missions to the point where it's going to be difficult to make credits/reputation/influence from anything other than wing missions. Good luck to new players and those not in a squadron. The follow-on missions are even more pitiful. This 'rebalancing' is going to deter many players from running missions and the reduction in influence rewards is going to make it an even harder grind for BGS players than it already is. More missions needed to affect BGS for even fewer credits than we were earning before.

anyway taking the rewards away from delivery missions by 80-85% was oversight. 7-9million credit missions razed to 240-400k... not worth running any delivery missions now.
I want to start by saying the pay buffs to combat are long overdue, good, and welcome.

That said, I think this largely kills AX combat for me.

It's difficult to overstate how much I dislike grinding Guardian unlocks, and combat has always been a distant 3rd thing for me in Elite, though recently I'd started dipping my toes in some more after 2.5 years of doing mainly exploration and trade.

Scout hunting didn't require a whole lot of up-front investment, and the rank progression from it felt reasonable, even though I knew it'd take me several thousand kills to get there from Competent. I knew it wasn't going to be quick, but it actually made me think Elite combat might someday be attainable. It was something to work on here and there, taking an hour or two on a random evening as the mood struck me among all the other things I usually do.

But with the nerf to rank, I'll probably just end up selling off or repurposing my AX Krait and once more give up on any thoughts of reaching combat Elite. It was too much of a grind as it was, but it at least felt attainable. And I don't enjoy it enough to put in the amount of slog required to ever get there 'organically'.

I suppose that just makes me "too casual" or something, but other Elite ranks can be realistically attained with a couple of years of normal, casual, and varied gameplay. That combat can not feels rather out of place. It's a bit discouraging, overall.

In short, I think something is very broken with combat progression, and people gravitating toward the least painful method is simply a symptom of the deeper problem. Closing off that path doesn't fix anything, and arguably makes the overall situation worse.

Take it for what you will, I'll likely still be around doing something else, somewhere.
Agreed the delivery mission nerf is excessive. Looking at a mission board now. Rewards for delivery missions 400-800k, for the others 1.5-5 mil! Delivery is now way out of sync with other rewards.

WHATOOOOO our players own a lot of credits?!?!? IMPOSSIBLE! This is a bug and an exploit! Hear mortal gamblers, what are your credits? Why do you need them? Fly the Glorius Sidewinder, carry 4 tons for 4000 credits and save up for an aircraft carrier !!! All you need is 1,250,000 runs! ... I think they think so

Thats how mining galore messed up peoples understanding of carriers purposue - from combined group effort to own and maintain a mobile base to I want a toy that I will have absolutely no benefit of owning apart from stocking up limpets to do more mining... only thing fdev messed up (in this situation) is allowing individuals to aquire them in the first place. I think they r trolling everybody to be fair :) I find it amusing cus currently its far less frustrating to make money out in the black exploring ✌

Edit: whatever pleases anybody, but buying a game with such a massive scale like elite and hoping to aquire end-game content within a week is pure silly. I will never understand that.

Ai tomorrow the Elite will end for me, at least for 3 months ... Let's see what happens after three months. After only nolifers remain.
