I have written and published a small, lightweight notepad type application for gaming. I use it to track affiliations of factions that I have Cordial relations with as I travel the galaxy but it could be used for quick and dirty notes.

Features

• Unzip it and run it. No installation required.
• White text on black background (can be inverted)
• Opacity controls so you can see behind the window
• Single text file that is automatically opened on start and automatically saved on exit
• Start a new journal, save current journal, open a text file (which will become the new working file).
• Open working folder and working folder base folder to easily find your old working file in the event of an upgrade.
• Logging function. Type .log as the 1st 4 characters and every time the application is opened a date/time stamp is appended to the end of the text input. .log is case insensitive: .log is the same as .LOG, .Log, .LoG
• Selectable font and size from any font on your computer for ease of reading. Cosmetic only, does not affect the work file.
• Always on Top feature. On by default, but can be switched off.
• Single instance application. Invoking application while running will give the application focus.
• Press the Esc key to exit the application. Work file and all settings will be saved.
• Fixed non-movable location. Menu option allows for moving/resizing. Esc to exit disabled while in move/resize mode.
• All data except work file location saved to registry.
• Window position, size, opacity, Always On Top, font, color inversion state, font (including size) saved to registry on any normal exit.
• Menu option to remove all registry customizations. Work file will be left intact; That must be deleted manually.
• Menu option to create a desktop shortcut to the current location of the program.
• Scan report from Jotti Anti-malware included to show due diligence in making sure programs written by me are not harmful.

This is the width I use. This can easily be changed with the move/resize menu item.

Game Note 1.3.1 released. Only one change was added: A right click menu for cut/copy/paste/delete was added. Internal version remains the same eliminating the need to import the previous version's main working text file. You can Click here to get it. Same as before, just unzip it and run it. You can unzip it into your current GameNote folder overwriting the files if you wish. This is the recommended method. Main post has been updated with the new link address.
