If I see proof she outlaws slavery I will merc for her in the Empire.
One more naive fool who sees the word 'slavery' and knee-jerk thinks it's like the brutal no-rights, no-personhood 'traditional' slavery. I really wish they'd rebrand it properly as 'indentured servitude'. If anything it's structured more like military service (in before off Vets) than 'traditional' slavery.
They get paid, they are fed and housed, they just can't 'quit' until the contract expires (which is set when entering into the contract). Are there cases of 'Imperial Slave' abuse? Surely, but there's plenty of cases of sexual harassment and practices by legitimate businesses to exploit their employees, too. But you're right. Let's do away with Imperial Slavery and fill the Empire with starving poor while at the same time decreasing productivity. Great plan!
The brutal no-rights, no-personhood slavery
is outlawed in Imperial space, but since they have "Imperial Slaves" I can't help but believe the demand (represented in game or not) for the 'traditional' slavery is miniscule there compared to the freedom and corruption for all Federation. :spits:
I'm not sure why it frustrates me so much that people like you have no idea what it is you oppose in a video game, since in the much more important real-life, political systems are
rife with voters (on all sides, ignorance is universal) utterly clueless as to the platform of the candidates they support or oppose.
