Game Stalls

Something that I have only (surprisingly) seen console games do is have game stalls. For those not sure what I mean, I'm talking about things such as throwing darts at balloons or the chicken toss. Basically, the games you play at parks to (potentially) win prizes!

I thought about this also. Valley Fair in MN is filled with game booths on the Midway - I think that is what they call it.

aren't those more suited for city fairs or carnivals than theme/amusement (choose your favorite) parks?

Game stalls are really common in parks today. Themepark from 1994 had some in.

thanks for the links, discovered a lot of games there.

i can see them fit in a small park, with a few flat rides and small coaster,as the atmosphere in those is kinda the same as in carnivals anyway, but i can't see their place in the bigger parks, mainly because people don't go there for the same reasons, they got a lot of big rides to do, and people tend to stop less to the games. i don't mean there that they don't make money (or they wouldn't exist anymore), but that arcade games are more suited, as the clerk needed to run most of those would be a total loss of money for the park.

i still like the idea of having them in, because people should be able to build their park the way they like

They are in parks all sizes.

Heidepark, Europa Park, Alton Towers, Walibi Holland, Six Flags, Busch Gardens to name a few of the big ones.

Most of the time the normal midway games like basketball, football, highstriker, bushel basket, milkcan toss etc.

The only place you might see those is inside an arcade building in a theme park not in the open.

Riddou. Not sure about your country but in the United States Midway games are huge business in both small parks as well as our huge parks. Walt Disney World has them, ceder fair parks, six flags.

It's rare to go to any park where there isn't someone willing to guess your weight, asking to to join in a squirt gun race, climb a swinging ladder, etc.

Not having it in a theme park game is a huge hole left wide open.

Well it's not like we would necessarily start off as a large park... And heck in some places such games might well fit in nicely with some themes... (I remember seeing a Strongman Hammer along the path to the Jaws ride in one pov video about riding the Jaws ride...)

Every themepark I've ever been to had some carnival/boardwalk games...like ring toss, water gun race, etc...something I felt rct franchise was missing

Definitely needs to be added in planet coaster

If made availiable, you can choose or not choose to put them in your park. Not sure what the big deal is.

Yes I would love to see this. Never seen in earlier iterations of RCT games, so it would be fun. We also have midway games here. Also tickets to play "5kamp" where you compete about best scores over 5 games of your choice, with scoreboard on the back of the ticket booklet. You write the scroes yourself. We in my family do it often. I am good at air/pellet rifle target shooting so I always choose that one. haha.

Glad to see tons of people support this. See Frontier, not only can you be the first major PC park sim game to have "midway" games, but a lot of people would really appreciate it also!

Apologies if reviving an old thread is a no-no around here - but I too REALLY want to see Midway Games/Games of Chance/Skill included. I haven't seen anything in recent updates regarding them.

As a "FLAT RIDE", animated games like you see in real parks for extra money makers. Ring toss, skeet ball, small basket ball toss, darts with balloons, shoots the target horse race game, etc. Win the stuffed animal or something. Of course guest aren't probably going to be walking around with stuffed animals but they could win "stuff".

So are you saying we should be able to design custom Flat Rides that are designed to look like game booths and then charge for people to use them, though they don't actually give out prizes? How do you entice customers if it's just a box? There won't be a fun factor in that will there?
