Game UNPLAYABLE after Update

The OP is right in his assertion, it IS unplayable as he- and me and many in this thread can not now play it.
Would it have been better if he said the game is NOW unplayable?
C’mon Commander, no need for semantics here. We can’t play the game!
Since we are going on the record, OP says the game is "UNPLAYABLE." I played the game as have many, many others...so yeah, your hypothesis is wrong.

It's unfortunate that the proliferation of Fleet Carriers is causing the game to crash in certain areas, but that does not make the game "UNPLAYABLE."

It's not semantics. You can not play the game. The game is not unplayable. I'm sorry for you, truly, but the OP is hyperbole and inaccurate.

In all fairness (despite certain rude behavior which makes me want to back you), you are being a bit of a snot in this. The issue has clearly been laid out as being related to [an over-capacity amount of] fleet carriers, and anyone in an affected system is rightly finding the game unplayable. Sure, on PC this is not so, and for those who log into busy systems NOT overflowing with Fleet carriers (Shinny-D) it is also not so, however, for a large contingent of players on consoles this is exactly the case.
I challenge you to jump into Areklici while on Xbox and see how long you remain connected doing anything other than sitting there idle in space if you wish to debate it. Then you can experience what those of us without second accounts on PC have been experiencing for the entire day. We literally cannot play the game, hence the term "unplayable." Perception is reality, and that is the perception, and thus reality, of those affected by this. Sure, the proper phrasing and structure should have been "Game rendered unplayable for console players in systems with full capacity of Fleet Carriers stocked to the gills with LTDs;" however, I find that to be an overbearingly long title and most/many don't speak so eloquently when frustrated.
In closing and with all due respect, please dismount from your elevated equine, proverbially speaking.

Fair enough. My Corvette is named Terminal Pedant. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Hope it gets sorted soon for you guys.

Me too for leaving the system!

This is the first time in my relatively brief 2yrs of playing the game where I somewhat understood the rampant frustration expressed by many forumites re Frontier. My two essential points;
  • if a system can be overloaded by virtue of the numbers of carriers players bought and use, why in hell would you not put that fire out at launch ? Again, I'm no gaming genius but even I know the simple equation more stuff = more power to run it
  • I can't for the life of me understand the unresponsivness on the part of the bosses. ' Don't worry chaps, we're on it!' or, 'So sorry for the interruption, we're trying to fix it asap!' or any other reasonable response meant to quell dissatisfaction. How hard are either of thoise two phrases to post ? Why would you not do that ?

hey, i was able to finally log on and jump out of the system, lol

It's rare nowadays to have a proactive Online game Customers Service Dept. A few Devs do it alright, sort of, lol. It was probably not a wise thing to let the BGS allow the highest price for LTDs and Painite be at the same station, at the same time.

Now if only I could be so lucky. I still take forever to load in, and when finally in, in the time it takes to go full throttle and attempt to jump out, I get Mauve Adder. :(

I rememeber playing DAoC like 17 years ago and havin a Customer Support Representative online at any given time.
Response time was something between less than a minute and maximum 10 minutes.

In all fairness, the subscription was 15€ per month

Kid... you're so basic you didn't even know fleet carriers weren't allowed in permit locked systems. Do yourself a favor and shut your mouth so you stop looking like such an idiot. Cheers!

"Kid?" "Basic?" That's hilarious. I wonder if your mother and father even knew each other when I was playing this game on a Commodore 64?

I didn't know that Fleet Carriers weren't allowed in permit locked systems because I don't own one, have no interest in owning one, and haven't bothered much with following the update on them.

Should change it to terminal non sequitur... or idiot pedant
This is where I give you the last word and bow out of the thread. Hope it gets fixed.

Then why are you here running your mouth about fleet carriers? Idiot much?

P.S. Google "semantics" because that's another thing you should "pedant" up on. You were arguing semantics... literally....

Same, OK IF YOU HAVE BEEN GETTING MAUVE ADDER CODES AND ARE ABLE TO GET IN GAME, TRY PLOTING A JUMP AWAY FROM AREKLICI SELL SYSTEM. IF U JUMP AWAY U SHOULD BE GOOD. I just made it back to my FC, not messing with LTD till these bugs are fixed...apparently they aren't releasing a patch for the MAUVE ADDER Bug till Monday.

So if your able to Login try warping out of AREKLICI as quick as you can, it didn't even show my FSD was charging but LUCKILY I warped away. Hopefully this into helps someone. Been stuck in Loading screen hell since 8am, but this finally worked.

Good advice. Have tried it countless times. Unfortunately, even targeting somewhere to jump to takes too long (on a console). Before the drive is up I'm already Mauve Adder'd.

I think we need to call the community managers to make them aware of this gamebreaking bug on both consoles in order to speed fixing up. Otherwise it might take days or weeks, until FD becomes aware of the problem and another amount of days until fixing.
Every crowded system can become a trap atm.

FYI, Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-5 is the highest price for LTDs now. Tread lightly, lol

At least today there are 5 other >1mil sell Ports.

Holy Frak! I made it out! It took multiple attempts, but I made it out.
Best bet is to touch NOTHING except Nav panel (don't throttle up at all) and set the filter to systems as fast as possible. You may get to select one before the boot, maybe not. Select and set as destination, then throttle up, cross fingers, and get lined up.
Good luck, and I hope they fix this crap soon.
I am definitely out of the LTD trading business until this is resolved.
