I have some interesting ideas, that would be open for discussion for everyone.

So Ship module upgrades in the future:

Bulkheads​

Cameleon Skin Composite (1A)
Hull Point Boost: +50%
Kiinetic Resistance: -40%
Thermal Resistance: 0%
Explosive Resistance: -80%
Extra: Makes your ship hardly visible in the space, the ship armour color replicate the surronding space.

Air Layered Composite (1A)
Hull Point Boost: +80%
Kiinetic Resistance: -75%
Thermal Resistance: +80%
Explosive Resistance: -100%
Extra: The ship cools down way faster and heats up slower.

Rock Plated Composite (1A)
Hull Point Boost: +200%
Kiinetic Resistance: +75%
Thermal Resistance: -100%
Explosive Resistance: +50%
Extra: The Ship can camuflage to look like a simple rock, but increase the heat significantly.

Cargo Racks​


Armoured Cargo Rack (1D)
Hull Point Boost: +10%
Capacity: (Class 8) 128, (Class 7) 64, (Class 6) 32, (Class 5) 16 ,(Class 4) 8

Sensors​

Combat Sensors (8A)
Mass: 200
Integrity: 120
Power Draw: 2.5070
Typical Emission Range: 5.4
Extra: It has different modes:
Automatic:
Chooses the weakest resistance module, depend on resistances and the owner ship weapon damage type, (select from Power Plant, Distributor, Shield Generator).
Manual:
Chooses a module right after you select the target, depend on what you added in the sensor settings.
Reactive:
Chooses the most damaged module.

Military Compartments​

Antistatic Module Package
Prevent one time from shutdownfield.

Night vision has pretty much ruined the idea of using a midnight black ship in silent running..
Well that and they never got it black enough or mat enough plus we rarely get to fight far enough away from some light emitting body.

Still if they had done an all over non reflective black that worked with all lighting…

I guess it's also a question of it being an MMO, it would probably be the much hated P2W if one could by a skin for ARX that gives an actual in game advantage. 🤷‍♂️

I like the idea of the armoured cargo, besides IMHO it should offer a fixed amount of hull armour scaling it up with the module class and not a %.

Combat sensors in reactive mode are not really helpful, because usually the most damaged modules are also the ones externals and with lowest integrity (i.e. chaff launcher etc). The other modes are hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting :D
 
Cameleon Skin Composite (1A)
Why not but I would change how it works. Hull penalty instead of bonus, power drain, permanent transparency effect (both in night vision and normal sight mode, imagine predator cloak from aliens movie series on ship...) that would affect detection sensor range too.

Air Layered Composite (1A)
I would rename this to thermal emission composite. Again no hull bonus. It can have the same stats as lightweight armor but it would activate itself when ship heat level reaches dangerous value- in this case ship would literally start to glow (in all wavelengths), be easier to detect on sensors but in exchange heat damage to components would be removed (and this effect can be directly related to how many times heat levels are above normal maximum value). Example:
Heat level below or equal 100%= no change to visibility and detection distance.
Heat level above 100%= multiplier to detection distance and visibility for example at heat 200% detection distance would be 2x higher and and visibility also 2x higher (glow effect added).
Ofc there can be also high cap for maximum heat level allowed (for example 500%) in which case ship could simply blow up... or melt.

Rock Plated Composite (1A)
Imho there is no point to make this another version of Cameleon Skin Composite. Instead of making this look like simple rock I would make this armor to be actually made of compressed rocks, therefore having worst stats from all available armors but in exchange give it ability to quickly repair itself when in very close proximity to asteroid or when ship is on planet/moon surface. It could be also vulnerable to mining laser.

Armoured Cargo Rack (1D)
I would prefer to have shielding effect on cargo rack that would affect cargo scan result based on distance and enemy scan strength (that can be equal to sensor range). Cargo scan result can be either no cargo when shielding effect check is succesfull or actual cargo when it fails.
There can be even shielded passenger cabin version.

I have no opinion on other combat modules since my interest in combat is mainly focused on how to avid it.
