Gameplay Videos - Share your Adventure

Random silly stuff, I was browsing through my recent combat footage the other day, stumbled upon this small 3-ships fight. Nothing particularly special, except for the way that Cobra Mk III enters the scene at the end of the sequence, straight from some official game trailer. Slapped a track from an official game trailer on it (2.3 Multicrew, IIRC), done.

Sorry for the video stuttering, game was set at 4K, only later I noticed that Shadowplay wasn't configured to record at 1080p but at screen's resolution. Was flying around a RES at 4K ultra detail while at the same time recording a 4K video of it, thoroughly impressed with "the little GTX 1060 that could".

Where do I begin with this thread... :D Great idea, shame it took me so long to find it. I'm going to split it into 3 posts for the moment, I'm sure I'll be back...

Here are 3 videos demonstrating the benefits (as the last video's title suggests) of wearing brown trousers :D

The first one was when I was flying to Colonia during the original expansion CG, carrying a cargo hold full of guides to deliver. Really not what I needed!

This one was just a normal jump in to a Binary star system...

And this one... well flying into a system so close to a Black Hole that I just missed the exclusion zone and then to be faced with a Neutron star!!! Good job I didn't fancy being turned into spaghetti that day!

I don't really do combat in Elite, mainly because I consider myself not very good at it, but I do always play in Open. With the start of my second account I decided that I would use it to experiment with combat a little bit more. I really enjoy combat CGs in Open it's good fun, on this occasion I was alone in a CZ (when I started) and then got jumped by a couple of players while I was preoccupied. The person in the Cobra was obviously just starting out as well and perhaps thought I would be too distracted by the NPC I was fighting, but chasing off a FDL in a Vulture... maybe I'm not as bad as I thought...

It's funny watching this again because I can see so many things that I could have done much better, especially full pips to engines at the end to chase them down, and dropping lock when they used chaff. But I think the adrenaline just got the better of me.

This video is probably one of my favourite experiences in Elite Dangerous. It was shortly after the Thargoids had been seen near stricken Megaships and research vessels. I had seen from other encounters with them that they will scoop up escape pods and so I decided that I needed to rescue as many survivors as I could. As soon as I entered the Thargoid came to check me out and then I knew I had to work fast, I just had to hope that she went to investigate something else before the escape pods.

Everything about this encounter was brilliant, being so close to the damaged ship, having to rescue the escape pods from out of the fires and then the noise... just as I was scooping up the last escape pod, she suddenly realised what I was doing, and was not happy! Swooping around behind the science vessel and seeing her just the other side was really eerie, still I couldn't resist trying to get a scan before I casually left *coughs*

Following on the steps of illustrious Cmdr Alec Turner...taking a leap of faith down a little mound on the infamous "planet Wilson" of Bomba Luigi's fame:

(aaand, enough with spamming this video around for now. :p)

Fantastic! Moments like this are among the things that elevate this game to whole new levels.

Love these too but out of rep now.

Rightfully so, great video.

This makes me want to repost my favorite moment in Elite so far. I was stuck in Colonia with my SRV, and a commander came to rescue me. He risked his ship and his life to get me out of my mess. Have a look at the Youtube time stamps in the video description, if it's too long (thread where I asked for help back then: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ay-Help-a-stranded-Cmdr-in-Colonia!?p=5856581)

Collected some materials in a large exploration settlement (medium security). Nothing exciting, basically just to show of where the 5 data points are that you have to scan.

When it comes to PvP, I still remember this intense fight vs Monstro as one of my highlights. We both did well while doing alot of mistakes which lead to a fight without either of us knowing who'd win.

Might as well toss this up here. An exciting encounter while mining for a community goal:

Couple more music videos.

One of me hurtling towards the surface of Chi Hydrae A7 at over 6000m/s for the Speed Bowl championships ..

(keep an eye on the speedo - it's probably the most interesting thing about this one)

.. and another of me landing veerrrryyyy gently(ish) under the ferocious pull of its 8.7g gravitational field.

Some fun PvE plasma condor footage, with an enjoyable soundtrack:

What the heck? It's been over 10 days since I trolled this thread with another of my gameplay music videos!

Well we can't have that ... took part in the Speed Bowl 1 high speed gravity surfing championship at the weekend (hell, I may even have come 3rd if the rumours are anything to go by) so naturally I've made a video of it.

As ED videos go you could be forgiven for thinking it's kinda dull whereas in fact it was one of the most intense and nerve wracking 30 odd minutes of FA Off ED gameplay I've ever had.

Music by Xploding Plastix ... More Powah to Yah!

Three things to keep your eye on - the speed, the altitude and the surface being gradually illuminated by the galaxy that's slowly rising in the background as I hurtle around the planet.
