Take care, fly safe

Just got in very late and checked the forum before doing the update. Saw the messages about losing custom bindings so made a backup of my current bindings from the Gamma 1.05 client. My grateful thanks to the forum!

I have not noticed any real difference in quantity or availability of rare goods.

Lave had 143 bottles of brandy last night (this is actually the largest inventory I've ever seen at Lave). Ethgreze had 80 tea buds and Hecate had 40-something worms. These are approx the same as when rares were first added.

Maybe the change means they will not respawn so quickly. Better grab what's there!

"- Added surface scanner to pledge level exporer cobra default loadout and added missing stats for the scanner module itself"
What if I have already kitted that slot with something else on my ship? Will my existing kit be replaced with the new default surface scanner? What if I already bought a surface scanner - will I now have 2 equipped?

I very much doubt it's retrospective.

Looks like it's NOT retrospective. To the extent that I assume we may need to wipe and restart to get the surface scanner: my default hasn't changed after a ship detonation.
Will ticket to confirm.

Reconfigured the bindings - which actually was a piece of cake - and was blown away by the details of improvements.
Excellent job there!

- Ship voice is still too silent imho.

where do we get slaves??? i got a mission to free slaves and i got no idea where to find them. SICKKK THO u can just sell them off for money if u wanna be bad

Hi everyone,

Gamma 2.00 will be going live later this afternoon - EDIT: the update process should start around 17.30PM

It's a big list - enjoy.

- Secret added

And an audio change log:

New
- New ships: audio for Orca, Type7, and Adder.
- Audio Options Screen: New stuff added, including tooltips.
- Dynamic Range: 3 Dynamic range options added ... “standard speakers/Headphones” mode, which is the same as previous releases, with a target integrated volume of approx -23dB EBU R128. A low dynamics “Night-Time” mode for playing at low volumes, without losing too much detail, or getting blown away by loud sounds. And a high dynamic “Home Cinema” mode for powerful speakers at loud volumes. The new modes are a “work in progress”, so feedback from players is very welcome.
- Many optimisations to increase performance.

Thanks everyone, see you in space.

Eye and Ear Candy!!! WOW... Hand me a bucket cause I'm drooling...

That IS a monumental update! Absolutely way beyond my expectations for the quality and quantity of the work done. Thanks everyone who helped with development! :D

Nice except that after I got it DL'd I can't get past the spinning ship..in fact it freezes and goes nowhere....:( In fact it doesn't even make one complete rotation...doh

sigh, based on the update payload i was hoping to be able to come here and say "well done" for a change but all i can ask is "are you intentionally trying to make this game as annoying as possible?". we have NPCs that just fly in circles.. every time and regardless of ship (makes sense for an eagle but a python doing this??)! easy to counter but just annoying! and bounties that hardly cover fuel costs unless you already have the millions of credits for a kill warrant scanner to pick your targets. this is going to be interesting when more normal people with real lives join us on release. yes, there are lots more goodies but unless you go space trucking for weeks, you can't play with any of it and most people can't spend their lives in front of the game non-stop. i wish you would replace whoever is in charge of unbalancing the game at every release, you are alienating anyone with a life :/ and thanks for nerfing the viper to death, i was just starting to enjoy that ship and now it is less agile than the big ships :( time to go play something fun for a change, sometimes i think this game is getting written for the NPCs rather than the players.

Very excited about the update to Gamma 2.0. It couldn't have come at a better time, my wife is away for more than a week, and I have her blessing to play plenty of Elite Dangerous. I'll have plenty of time to explore the new features!
