This is a truly impressive list and the devs deserve respect - I'm very impressed by their professionalism and standard of work. Frontier has a winning team. It looks like there's a mountain of work left to do before launch time - we're counting on you!

If you keep adding all sorts of goodies like this, there's not going to be any surprises left for me to unwrap on my birthday (launch day). :D

Nice job folks!

(BTW.. the graphics on the launcher are still borked... :( )

Hey all, epic patch aright.
Pumped about all the audio updates, I found the voice got too low in battle and mix was lacking in customization.

Really happy over here ambiance and audio assets are not neglected but are reworked as good as they already are. Warms my heart that sound is not taking a back seat on this one. (want to hear new star heat effects!) Props to the audio team, you deserve much credit.

Yup, I'm getting this too - game now unplayable - help!

Me 3, stuck non spinning ship.

I tried a zillion combos of graphics options.

I tried the edits to the <network> section of the .xml file too.

"They" poured salt on the wound by closing the ticket.
On 'my' planet we don't closed unsolved tickets, just saying.

installing on a different PC now with fingers crossed.

Well I can log into the game, however I still can't accept any missions at all. It just keeps giving the same error message telling me "failed to connect to server" each time I try to accept a mission.... :(
I've also tried changing the .xml file as sugested elseware in this thread, but it didn't help. I also tried removing/uninstalling the entire game and installing it again 1 hour ago, but still the same tiresome message, so I guess I'll just have to hope they'll fix this during the day, because everything worked fine yesterday before they upgraded from gamma 1.05 to gamma 2.0 :( :(

I'm in the "stuck at spinning ship" camp so while I was excited by all the changes I also think changing so much this close to launch is risky, So many variables to consider when diagnosing the BIG can't now play at all problem that many people are having. My thoughts (and prayers) are with the dev's that they can get to the bottom of this problem, which is hopefully isolated to just one of the MANY code changes.

may be risky but alot of the changes where def needed, but yeh im like you stuck on the spinning ship :( I knew i shouldnt have logged out when it let me in. But so far every major patch ive never been able to play on patch day due to some issue or another, but its a work in progress so no complaints on my end.

I don't even get to the spinning ship, client crashes right after clicking on play. Game files validated and no problems before this....

FD is telling me to stop playing so much and finally complete my much put off tax return ;-)

I have not noticed any real difference in quantity or availability of rare goods.

Lave had 143 bottles of brandy last night (this is actually the largest inventory I've ever seen at Lave). Ethgreze had 80 tea buds and Hecate had 40-something worms. These are approx the same as when rares were first added.

We'll take a look.

From the dumps we've received there's a couple of causes which we're looking into.

Michael since you're looking at this thread can you please confirm what us smugglers that what is referred to "smuggling missions" in the release notes is actually the new scavenging missions at USS spots?

If so any idea when there will be "real" smuggling missions in the game (i.e. get us legally acquired goods but that are illegal at this station / deliver these goods to that station over there where they are illegal) - are they even being looked into at this point?

And third thing about smuggling: I have noticed as well that Federation systems are issuing "humanity" missions asking for slaves where they are illegal. Is this a bug (there is no indication on the mission of being an illegal activity) or an intended smuggling mission? If it is intended can this be expanded to include something other than slaves and with missions that actually pay you ?

Thanks

I've not come across one of those missions yet. Are they being offering as a way to free slaves?

From the text it doesn't look like it. Just slave contraband if its not a bug (I have a feeling they are supposed to be generated only on Empire systems where they are legal).

Smuggling missions are when you deliver illegal goods and scavenging missions are when you have to find illegal goods.

Slavery missions are a separate thing to allow you to free slaves - that can be illegal in some places.
