Patch Notes Update Gamma 2.02 Incoming

Hmm... while this is certainly annoying, I've spend enough life time in labs to learn appreciating reliably reproducible results. ^.^
 
Having this issue since 2.0 launched, i wish i could be playing, the same as the rest of you do.

Let's be honest though, may as well watch a movie or do something else until we have a dev confirmation of a fix to this issue, it's clearly not a simple fix.

It's already almost 22:00 for me and the guys at Frontier, hopefully we get more info and/or a fix sometime tomorrow :)

Tried this fix earlier - no luck.

Just applied 2.02 tonight (2hrs to d/load !) -was working on 1.5

Running Vista 64, Zonealarm and AVG

I'm going to buy popcorn and some % for 16 Dec. it will be nice comedy ;] I can understand such problems on Alpha and Beta stage but Gamma Release Canditade and still every bigger update is messed up ? If this happens after release good luck you're out of game market...
 
Playing ok for me at the moment if a little laggy. I had the spinny ship business when I first tried to log on post the 2.02 hotfix. So I closed it all down retried and I'm on.

Some nice little details that I've spotted so far, other ships in SC look better (Blue stars), Graphic warning for FD cooldown, CAP too low for boost warning etc.
 
Currently Im watching another episode of "FedEx Sim: Spinning ships". Yet another fantastic, but broken release. *claps hands*

Ouch F'devs Hamster must have slipped of his wheel high speed Coriolis effect resulting in a station wide power spike has caused ship computer to BSOD. Not had a game do that in a long time.

Realy, I have been playing since Alpha and its no where near been a FIASCO......

Possible workaround for spinning ship of freeze, discovered by switching to my Rift - it seems that changing some graphics settings (say from High to Medium) and applying before starting the game bypasses the bug for me - you can change the settings back once it's running. It only works until you reload the game again but it's working for me multiple times. :)

Because ubisoft and ea and many others have done such a grand job with over 10x budget...

Massively frustrated that I can't get on since gamma 2.0 came out, but I don't share your apparent joy at the slightest hiccup. I'm a dev myself, I would cheerfully offer to help if I thought I had any skills or expertise to offer (sadly I do not)
 
Theres an old saying, if it aint broke dont fix it... And before 2.0, the game was nearly there, with just a few small issues. Now for many of us, we cannot enjoy the game at all.

At launch we'll have Elite II. Stable, no hardware requirements, offline and with planetary landings! #CantWait

Thanks. Switching from Borderless to Fullscreen fixed it for me.
 
My experience for Gamma 2 has been a little bit of a roller coaster.

2.00 - Lost keybindings, suddenly in windowed mode - both easy to correct. Seemed overall quite sluggish, particularly first time bringing up station services. Stupid Wear and Repair costs but other fixes great. Still, very playable. Sound guys/gals need a medal.
2.01 - Upgrade quick. Surprisingly noticeable improvements in graphics. Hang on exit. No issue with missions and they seem more varied. No crashes. Found myself saying "Man, I *love* this game!!"
2.02 - Have not been able to play it yet.... I'm at work now. :-(

I'm not sure if if my hard sync is too hard or my soft sync is too soft, but my params are 'hanging' nicely :D

New option in menu, set remotely by BOSS ....disable game for those at work :D

I'm with you on this. Prior to g2.0 the game was playable, no crashes, no disconnects, it was basic but very playable.

Now though missions are broken, I'm stuck in hyperspace (had to Ctrl-alt-del), now on reload I'm stuck on spinning ship. With only 5 days to launch, I'm not filled with enthusiasm. If now every time we have to go through these problems when new features are added, well, oh dear.....

I think I'll cancel my day off on the 16th to play all day as I unfortunately think it'll be a disaster, I really hope I'm proven wrong, but with problems following every time new features are added.

Yesterday, you asked us to put in tickets - then tickets were closed stating "We are aware of this issue" with no resolution.

Today you are asking for tickets to be opened again? This is very frustrating for your user base, FYI...

If you're experiencing an issue that is already on the list below, you do not need to submit a ticket for it. Please consult this list before creating a new ticket.
I suspect they want confirmation that all the issues we brought up before the patch were not fixed (even inadvertently) by the patch.

I will say this, though. I'm getting pretty tired of watching the orange hologram of my Hauler get stuck while spinning.
I guess this is what happens when you try to introduce too many things at once in one patch. With all that new code all at once, it's harder to figure out where it broke. If it had been introduced in bits and pieces, it would have narrowed it down to one smaller set of changes being the root cause, and rolling back just that smaller set of changes might have been a more viable option in the short term.

With so many things still broken, though, I'm wondering if they shouldn't just roll back to 1.05 and retroactively introduce everything in bits and pieces so they really can nail down which set of changes is to blame for whatever set of issues.

Oh well. Back to watching YuGiOh: The Abridged Series like I started yesterday when they first broke the game. Kinda sucks I can't play it at all on my only two days off of the week, though.

Missions are completely broken.
Accept delivery mission.
Travel to target system.
No mission in left-panel list, and no way of turning mission in.
Exit and restart.
Still no mission in left-panel list, but can turn mission in, but that fails with a communication error.
