Can someone please confirm that something is going to be done about the negative rep which is a direct consequence of not being able to hand in certain completed missions?
Surely core issues like this which affect everyone are higher priority than messing around with TIR settings which only affect a small proportion of the player base?

Cheers Frontier, for all the hard work, long hours and telling your partner, 'I was at work...honest'.

Big thanks for the OSOD fix!

No fix for the orbital lines cutting through the planets ???
+1

This is *very* annoying. More so as it was once fixed.

Personally I also miss the yellow dot marking the station - Not a biggie but...

the Galaxy Map settings are all reset to their defaults every time you use the System View/System Map. :(

+1

Save the "show by color" filters - and let *me* change them when I think they need to.

And it seems ridiculous it doesn't work like that already, as it *does* save the settings for the "show trade routes" details... Go figure...

Seperate 'UI Back' into its own bindable input (Note this might affect players with custom bindings!)

At last,we needed that back it was so annoying without it. :)

Why would the data be worth 0 credits? Furthermore why would anyone want to sell exploration data for no profit.
I am confused.

I'm not sure why they are zero but previously if you had data worth zero credits there was no way to get rid of it from the list, you couldn't sell it and there's no way to delete it either. They only appeared when Gamma 2.0 went live, I suspect they were just not listed at all before.

Restarted ED and got the FPS back. So far great work FD. :) All seems to work for now.

EDIT: Had a weird USS thing. There was a ship called "Shadowdealer" there and 2 fed ships as i came in. 3 seconds later they were "deleted" and the trails from them lingered until they cleared up. Havent seen that before. Maybe he was taken care of by the feds just before i got there but wasnt deleted in time.

This update changes the graphics options. I set it back to ultra like before and i lost about 15-20FPS in stations.

Na, first thing I did was crank it all back up again. Still silky :)

Agreed on the galaxy map settings reverting to original after you exit it. Not a beta bug though. We need to ticket it or make a thread to raise awareness. Hate to have population bubbles ON and set to a certain value, exit galaxy map and then come back and its all reset and i have to do it again.

It's funny that you guys congratulate and thank them when the game is still in such a mess 4 days from "release". Missions are impossible to complete, hence no money and rep hit, I am now Hostile in Empire and Unfriendly with the feds. On top of that, the updated launcher downloads at 0.1mb/sec when pre-gamma all patches downloaded in 5 secs for me. The game has had no additions since early beta and is most definitely not ready for release, bare bones mining, repetitive mission and trading play and no lore or story to speak of or any other kind of 'immersive' features. Finally, 4 days before release and there's no viable way to play with others in game as there are no group activities, no player factions not even a sandbox environment to create your own game.

Hell it has even less features than FFE, at least in that one you could see the police officer's fugly face, wearing a pig hat when paying your fines and you could send 'comms' and 'chat' with NPC's, even transmit a distress call.

I am starting to think that paying for this was a waste of money. And just to clarify since I can see flames coming , I am a fan of the series which I have been playing since 1985. As a matter of fact I am playing Oolite this very moment while waiting for the patch to download at the light speeds of 0,01 mb/sec. Who knows maybe I will get the chance to fail some more BBoard missions before I go to work tomorrow morning.

And the sad fact is that in a year from now they will ask us to cough up more absurd amounts of money to pay for proper multiplayer features and a couple of new ships, call it an 'expansion' DLC and stick the "400 billion star systems to explore!" sales pitch label.

The 'it's a beta' argument no longer applies on the 12th of December. So no FD, not a good job AT ALL.

The game looks MUCH better now. Cobra cockpit is far more detailed and shaders aren't so washed out. They took a dive in 2.02 which was most noticeable on shiny stuff in the outfitting screen. Looks fantastic now and TrackIR is fixed complete with much requested keyboard screen focus shortcuts.

I am starting to think that paying for this was a waste of money.

I paid $150 and don't regret it. Even if I stop playing today. I paid for early access to the game and several skins so I look different to my friends and in the outfitting screen. A bit steep but not worth crying over. Buy it on release and it's cheaper than most current game releases by $10. You could do far worse. Less than a dinner for two and that lasts about 40 minutes and it's gone.

And I'm pretty sure it will only get better in time.

Another black screen 'player' here. How come if you start 'EliteDangerous32.exe' directly you get to see the intro movie and if you start it via the launcher you get the black screen (of doom)? Net log shows it can connect. From there you get zip.

Hello everyone,

Gamma 2.03 changelog here for you!

  • Seperate 'UI Back' into its own bindable input (Note this might affect players with custom bindings!)
  • Made backspace the default back button for all control schemes to ensure it's always at least bound to something. Control pad schemes also have B bound to back too
  • Fix repro'd case of spinning ship lock on load
  • Fix soft lock when buying data and then going to system view
  • Ensure that we do not send a webrequest that will result in a module being attached to a slot that it should not fit on (fixes broken decal save crash)
  • Fix for ATI driver crash seen when the Imperial capital ship warps in
  • Fix client-side bankruptcy bug - clear player's fines & bounties from the respawn system, not the one that happened to be selected
  • Fixed assert caused by trying to generate planets in a nebula
  • Fix for missions not showing up when moving servers
  • Fix to cobra's front hardpoint door animation being swapped
  • Reduce memory footprint of route finder to compensate for larger search radius
  • Refresh the mission list if we initially fail to accept or update a mission
  • Split WearAndTear into visual and gameplay parts, repaired separately
  • Prevent dropping out of supercruise into capital ships
  • Remove Electosmelters from cargo drop
  • A couple of galaxy map trade route improvements:
    • Switching on an individual commodity will now automatically toggle on its parent category
    • Added buttons for selecting all/none
  • Track IR fixes:
    • No TrackIR roll in cockpit fixed
    • Sluggishness when using TrackIR 5 fixed
  • Added some logging for accepting missions failing and updating missions failing
  • Fix for plotting jumps in the galaxy map which are too long
  • Added support for AV8R01 by adding it as an alternate AV8R03 scheme
  • Auto downgrades support added (automatic graphic settings)
  • Commodities market UI cargo count doesn't update when discarding cargo fixed
  • Fix the problem where routes plotted with jumps greater then 20LY would not show up on the navigation panel
  • Galaxy generation optimisation
  • Tweaked shadow setting in the high and medium presets
  • Salvage missions now correctly spawn objectives
  • Make normal slavery collect missions give cash not just rep
  • Fix for galaxy map sometimes showing solid lines on plotted routes when they should have been dotted due to insufficient fuel
  • Fixed trade route filters stop working if you use Clear while a heading is expanded
  • Upped AI bounties to make bounty hunting more viable as a career

And a server-side update too!
  • Prevent paintjobs and decals being applied to unsupported ship slots
  • Allow exploration data worth 0 credits to be sold
  • Activate the link between commodity markets and faction simulation
  • Fix some failing requests for starport news

what is UI Back???

Easily the best release yet and fixed all my showstopping issues but then when launching from the hanger at Nemere Market in Damna the station decided I was loitering and blew my up. Please track down these type of overly aggressive station bugs before launch as it's this kind of sillyness that will stop people playing.
