Hello everyone,

Gamma 2.03 changelog here for you!

  • Seperate 'UI Back' into its own bindable input (Note this might affect players with custom bindings!)
  • Made backspace the default back button for all control schemes to ensure it's always at least bound to something. Control pad schemes also have B bound to back too
  • Fix repro'd case of spinning ship lock on load
  • Fix soft lock when buying data and then going to system view
  • Ensure that we do not send a webrequest that will result in a module being attached to a slot that it should not fit on (fixes broken decal save crash)
  • Fix for ATI driver crash seen when the Imperial capital ship warps in
  • Fix client-side bankruptcy bug - clear player's fines & bounties from the respawn system, not the one that happened to be selected
  • Fixed assert caused by trying to generate planets in a nebula
  • Fix for missions not showing up when moving servers
  • Fix to cobra's front hardpoint door animation being swapped
  • Reduce memory footprint of route finder to compensate for larger search radius
  • Refresh the mission list if we initially fail to accept or update a mission
  • Split WearAndTear into visual and gameplay parts, repaired separately
  • Prevent dropping out of supercruise into capital ships
  • Remove Electosmelters from cargo drop
  • A couple of galaxy map trade route improvements:
    • Switching on an individual commodity will now automatically toggle on its parent category
    • Added buttons for selecting all/none
  • Track IR fixes:
    • No TrackIR roll in cockpit fixed
    • Sluggishness when using TrackIR 5 fixed
  • Added some logging for accepting missions failing and updating missions failing
  • Fix for plotting jumps in the galaxy map which are too long
  • Added support for AV8R01 by adding it as an alternate AV8R03 scheme
  • Auto downgrades support added (automatic graphic settings)
  • Commodities market UI cargo count doesn't update when discarding cargo fixed
  • Fix the problem where routes plotted with jumps greater then 20LY would not show up on the navigation panel
  • Galaxy generation optimisation
  • Tweaked shadow setting in the high and medium presets
  • Salvage missions now correctly spawn objectives
  • Make normal slavery collect missions give cash not just rep
  • Fix for galaxy map sometimes showing solid lines on plotted routes when they should have been dotted due to insufficient fuel
  • Fixed trade route filters stop working if you use Clear while a heading is expanded
  • Upped AI bounties to make bounty hunting more viable as a career

And a server-side update too!
  • Prevent paintjobs and decals being applied to unsupported ship slots
  • Allow exploration data worth 0 credits to be sold
  • Activate the link between commodity markets and faction simulation
  • Fix some failing requests for starport news

Michael,

Two things,

I'm curious what the cause of the spinning lockup was? and a BIG Thank you to all of you, with this this patch I now can play again since the release of Gamma 2.0

Another great update, keep up the good work guys.

(forgot to mention, only down side I've seen now is the orbital route lines don't go behind the planets again. Making it pretty awkward to make quick approaches to the stations)

Anyone else getting 'Unrecoverable Transaction Error' when trying to jump between systems, happening everytime now, I get an overly long hyperspace animation sequence then a black screen and the error message which then sends me back to main menu.

what is UI Back???

Say for instance you're buying something from the market, after you bought it instead of scrolling all the way down to exit, you can bind a button/key to just exit or go back.
On a 360 pad it was the B button/keyboard it was esc i think.

Basically it's just a quick exit bind in most cases.

This is an interesting bug I encountered (now that I'm not locked out by the OSOD!). In-game, the options menu is completely unresponsive when graphics are on the High preset (which was erroneously auto-determined to be correct for my 5-y/o laptop). I had to exit to the Menu, where the Options menu was responsive and allowed me to turn down the graphics preset to Low. Now, the Options menu in-game is operable again.

Well done on the updates FD. After yesterday I had some minor glitches, but none today.

However, I have noticed a lighting issue (ticket raised) in a binary star system. One planet in system ALRAI SECTOR IM-V B2-7 lay directly between stars A and B. Distance was 600 Ls from A and 360000Ls from B. Both stars were M-class, A being the larger. The planet, and it's moon, were only lit by star B! The planet was third planet of star A.

Thanks, especially for this...

A minor issue, but it was annoying.

BTW if your HUD no longer opens, there is a new option under graphics for "disable UI camera lock on", which is on by default :p

Yes, this option is great , it means now with Trackir, the keyboard buttons can be pressed and the cockpit panels showup. The didn't before.

FD need to support the Trackir pause button, hotkey properly (views should remains where it was last paused instead of auto looking forward view after 1 second delay)

My trackir v3 , roll works again, and delay in moving seems fixed, i could only try it for 1 minute, before kid distraction happened. So fingers crossed it was ok.

Back button for ui, sounds cool, need to look at that with my joystick custom setup.

Still cant clear 'wear and tear' even though its fixed and 100% ok but still showing 3cr !. The hull allows me to select 99% and 100% , then asks me to confirm 100%, but doesn't change the 3cr.

Is this the mafia extortion at work on each station I visit.

I'm confused about this. Anyone else get this?

Added
A couple of galaxy map trade route improvements:
Switching on an individual commodity will now automatically toggle on its parent category
Added buttons for selecting all/none

The one I didn't ticket since I started testing but meant to, gets fixed, mind readers. Thanks

I still get wanted myself when shooting down wanted pilots, happened just now in the Kunguruti system.
Also, there are very few missions available..

wow a very comprehensive list of fixes AWESOMENESS!!

Now I hope / wonder if I can do the black box / rebel comms missions and complete them :D :D

Since the last version that I could even log into there have been WAY TOO RADICAL flight characteristic changes! Thrusters are unmanagaibly sluggish and unresponsive for one (on my Cobra w/ class C thrusters and empty hold).

Why are you tweaking things that worked fine all this time?

MAKE THE GAME WORK ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESSLY FOR YOUR LAUNCH PARTY!

I have no idea why you would think dumbing down things that work great for time and money spent on upgrades to tier 3 ships right before your launch would gain any interest in your game... In fact it is trying my vast amount of patience.

I've been very satisfied and patient with your development and changes made up until now.

This update seems to work great so far. All missions work, no weirdness to report. The ambient station voices and the text based scanning messages to the effect of "thanks for the cooperation", and "move along", seems to be missing now though? I hope they return some day!

Edit: Err... That day arrived after I restarted the computer. Ehhh.... No matter then!
