Stop complaining. Its for the better.

How? No, don't bother, we'll just disagree endlessly in circles.

But honestly - don't you see how this is going to upset a chunk of people who bought into Alpha and Beta specifically for that discount? When it was working in particular way for months and months with no hint it would be changed? And then the DAY BEFORE RELEASE, it's changed, with no warning or explanation why?

It's not "nice", it's pretty much valueless now. Left a real bitter taste in my mouth for which Launch is now spoiled. It's not the credits, it's yet again the last minute sneak out a nerf hidden in patch notes that is going back on a promise made months ago.

Pretty upset about it really. Yet again. Not what I wanted Launch day to feel like.

I one of those games balancing issues that can be decided upon until the game been played by a good number of people.

It can always be reverted. Thank not FD , instead thank all the little crybabies on the forums that directed many decisions.

It's devastating to me. I upgrade to alpha because of the discount. Yes I am at least partially selfish. I'd be happy if they just gave anyone the alpha discount instead.

If you only bought alpha because of it then I sympathise however it is for the good of the game. The less of a genuine monetary advantage any player has over another the better. Back when insurance was announced it generated as much bad feeling as good even from those who benefitted.

Elite is not F2P so as long as the game is balanced properly no one should need these advantages over your fellow pilot.

I am sorry you are disappointed and I can see why but I think its for the greater good and will please more people than it will upset.

PS technically I lose out too but I am pleased. Maybe FD could give a few cosmetic perks as a thanks instead going forward but for now that must be low priority.

Truth is its not much of a deal anyway its not like dying happens often if you play sensibly but it is the APPEARENCE of a p2w advantage which could be so damaging imo

Safe flying commander.

2.07 was running 5 hours straight for me this night.

Stuttering in supercruise only appears when the frame rate is not locked.
Locked to 60HZ eradicates all the stuttering.
The permit missions were still bugged. Appeared multiple times. Algorythm there seems to be broken.
Already ticketed it.

Done a few missions to gain local alliance rep around ethergreze and lave . Done a bit of normal hauling missions and rare good tradings.
Done a few bounty runs too.

Game is running smooth like butter for me. Transitions between " normal space <-> supercruise <-> hyperspace " were smooth.
No disconnects or crashes. AI is acting really nice now, still could gain some difficulty but that is just personal preference. The real fights are pvp.

Get some last few minor things sorted out before release in a few hours and everything is good to go.

Let the evolve begin. I for myself am proud to be a guest on this hopefully never ending story.
Cheers

Game is running great for me. It's laughable reading some of the comments here regarding the changes. Stop acting like spoiled little brats. The rules are there for a reason and if you're good enough then you won't need a huge advantage. You just need to be a bit more careful. This is no longer an exercise Commanders, it's war!

Holy crap. It makes a huge difference. I really didn't think I was having stuttering issues. But locking the frame rate to 60 and turning on V-Sync makes a huge difference in how smooth the game looks and feels.

I got the issue with having a quest to buy Animal Meat for Lawd 80, ran in to an NPC who asked me to abandon it and can't then hand the quest in.

Figured it must be badly worded, so I tried abandoning it, to see whether that got me any reward, but all I got was a fine on top of the loss of a 15,000 credit reward.

Bizarrely, the mission popped up again immediately on the bulletin board, but as a good-will job, so I got no reward AND paid for the meat.

Dinner's on me, everyone.

The Alpha & Beta discount only applying to the ship's hull, not upgraded components (as of 2.06) was a brilliant change. I never wanted us to have that kind of an edge. It's nice, but much less a game changer now.

Agreed. Death was too cheap for me as an alpha backer. It is much more reasonable now.

Security ships still attacking players with Clean status (nav beacon).

Are you attacking a Wanted ship? Also, is that ship wanted in that system or do they only show as wanted with the K-Warrant scanner? If it is the latter, I believe you can only safely attack them in an anarchy system. If they show as wanted after a quick scan though (bottom left), they should be fair game, you must do a quick scan though regardless.

Commodities market is still borked, giving out false data in the EXPORTED TO column. Some inconsistencies also in the Trade Routes arrows in Galaxy map.

I'm attacking wanted ships in the system I'm in. Not after KWS scan. My status is clean.

It's not a bug, but change introduced by Gamma 2.6

You know, when they advertised that product, they stated very clearly that if you bought into the beta, you would gain a 25% discount on the buy back price of your ship; not the buy back price of "part" of your ship. To change that now would be really disingenuous. I don't care how some people may think this somehow upsets game balance, but a deal is a deal and they should keep their word. That's just business 101.

I totally agree with this. The whole damn game is eye-candy, let me see my damn ship already.

You can see it in the outfitting hangar.

When you go out on an evening (if...) do you make yourself look good mostly for yourself or for others who look at you?

I'll bet it's mostly the latter.

It would be nice to be able to see your ship at certain points other than outfitting - but the reasons you don't have 3rd person perspective have been adequately explained, and I agree with the devs on it. Take snaps, blow yourself kisses or whatever in the hangar ;)
