Under no circumstances should this game be released in this state. It will become the laughing stock of the wider gaming community. Release should be put back until Jan 2015 at the earliest.

In my humble opinion : if the game goes live with such server issues, you might considerer to postpone release or you take the risk to be crushed by videogame press and game websites...

Servers will have some issues for sure on release. When Blizzard released the newest expansion for WoW, their servers went down immediately, so if only servers stability will be ok it will be just fine after a first few hours of a very heavy load of connections.

Almost every online game has server issues on release day.

The bright side of the current problems are they messed up an update *before* release rather than after. As long as they get a 2.0x out today which works for the majority, they should be no worse off than last week for connectivity.

I'm not saying it's good, I'm saying it's better they messed up yesterday than messing up tomorrow. Even if they get everything working today there will be problems tomorrow, given how many people will be downloading and trying to connect for the first time.

I was hoping there would be a new patch out by now. I was playing at around midnight (GMT -6) and was seeing kicks at seemingly random intervals (15 minutes, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour).

I can't imagine the atmosphere over there at Frontier. It must be really hectic and anxiety ridden. Good luck folks, we know you are working hard!
