And yet, when it happens, it may inspire the kind of game play you can't get without it. Look, fact of the matter is our opinions are worlds apart. But here's one thing:

1) Pilot flies around in a PG and nothing bad happens to him. (me: except for geographical in game dangers)
2) Pilot flies around in a PG, gets destroyed by a villain, swears vengeance and takes him down Wyatt Earp style.

Number two is better. Full stop. :)
I prefer 1. With the addition I made.

To each their own. Full stop.

I can't understand the mentality of someone that would fly all of the way to beagle point in order to kill explorers.
They're the same style of muppets who in RL vandalise something that the County Council's refurbish for the community, just to get thier 'jollies off'.

They have that attitude in RL, why not be a Richard Cranium in a make believe game as well.

It really isn't, but I guess believing so makes you feel better about it?
No not really.....they're spoilers, that's all.

Doing something like waiting for a player to logon & attacking, knowing that the defender can't fight back is spoiling in my view. Now if the attacker messaged the said ship, signalling their intentions, that would be different.
But as described as to what's been going on, it's spoiling.

That's better - now you're keeping within the context of the video game, and not making assumptions about players' personalities and lives outside of that context.

The interesting thing I think has probably been missed in all this is the individual in persons dedication, because they've left their game logged in for a few days now, as removal from group requires them to log out after the group owner deleting them from the list.

This is something that needs to be resolved by FDev. When you remove someone from a group, the next time they clear instance they should be forced to menu IMO.

Extremely rare under normal circumstances. When in open, it might be better to not log out at publicly broadcasted locations and tourist traps.
It probably is rare & you're quite right.
It's up to the individuals to think ahead & be pro-active not reactive.
Everyone on DWE2, should have been aware that others were out to spoil the trip....they even advertised it!!! Yet how many got ganked at the start?
Even though for most part of the trip I flew within the Fleetcomm PG, I remained in Solo at the start & was at BP days before the 22nd April, anticipating something like this was gonna happen, always careful WHERE to be when logging out of the game while in the BP system.
It's always been anything goes in Open mode, so I steer clear of it.
Infiltraters in Fleetcomm was always possible, I remember the same thing in Mobius, years ago.
It's a game after all, most players want to play fair, some players don't.

I was giving the advice within fleetcomm discord, both in voice and text format... unfortunately some the admins there do no like me and felt I was a detriment to the event before it had even began and I was removed after being in Fleetcomm for a good year now, both PG and Discord, so while I would link my DW2 specific builds I do not have them anymore as they where on the Fleetcomm discord and have been since deleted by the admins.
Awww that's such a sad story of a misunderstood little bunny (with a camp voice). BOO HOO HOO!

Yeah, that's something that really is an oversight. If they're gonna put the onus upon group owners to moderate their own groups, then the moderation tools provided should actually work.
