GCS Sarasvati - early Thargoid lookout megaship

Any way of writing all this list in an spreadsheet or other database so we can better coordinate which systems have been surveyed already? (I'm too lazy to copy all this by hand xD)

Very basic spreadsheets (have the time as one of the stars in this system is 300k ls from main):

Equinox Shell systems: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PK9eiVLkYSzSgBcuIOFITCVP7yOU-k8XL3maI2iPDw4/edit?usp=sharing

Equinox/Guardian Intersection systems: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u3gwbd1c7zLQpJ_kRxtO1no6-RoY1FwqghIrBVVhRtw/edit?usp=sharing

Ok so I might need to cut the Tinfoil down on my diet ... and maybe someone knows if this is something that is common on other mega ships.(or stations:?).. but the front array of antennae seem to be blinking in varying groupings. Is this just some kind of RNG blinking pattern... quite possible .. Or could it be something else ?

The result of a rather tedious night of counting blinks...

0,29,29,28,28,28,27,27,27,28,27,26,28,26,27

made no sense to me and didn't repeat after an hour...

Any thoughts?

Not sensible ASCII

Looks like anti-collision beacon.

Worth looking at other ships and seeing if they do the same? FD have encoded messages in audio from ships, no reason to think they wouldn't use the lights. Unless they all do the same. Non-repeating does make it appear less likely to be meaningful, but nice idea [up]

Simulacrae, You owe me a tinfoil cap.

Well u know the reason i noticed the blinking was i was trying to figure out which way the ship was pointing ... Gotta flex that tinfoil once in a while

Ya collision lights... Just had to play with it when i saw it was blinking in groups.

Just returned from my trip. Had a lot of time to think.

I'm a little curious... has anyone done a survey of the moon that the Sarasvati is orbiting? May turn up something, may turn up nothing, but I am rather curious why that ship would have wound up in near-orbit of the moon in the first place. Or maybe is there something else in the system that we need to look for, again perhaps on the surface of a planet or moon? I'm a little far from it right now and debating whether or not to chase down a possible INRA lead or go looking over things at the Sarasvati...

I did a little poking around ... But not a proper survey

And since no one here has popped it up yet.. the first log is from this video that the player group Galcop made during the "rise to power" event a while back. The fact that FDev have intertwined the historical and the player content is interesting:

GCMW Archival Reel #0503 - Watch The Skies

The Galactic Cooperative of Worlds Presents: Watch The Skies!

Although the war against the Thargoids has ended in victory for humanity and the Galactic Cooperative, the Octagonal Menace is still not something we can take lightly! As the vanguard of civilised space, it is the duty of all GalCop pilots to remain ever vigilant against this continued existential threat to the galaxy.

Even now, GalCop's scientists are hard at work developing newer, more advanced technology to monitor threats and keep us safe from this extra-terrestrial menace, and the ranks of our space forces are growing every day to meet any enemy that may cast a shadow across civilised space. But we still need heroes, pilot heroes like you! Only by banding together as a unified front can we continue to ensure a brighter future for everyone in the galaxy. Remember these words of wisdom: ask not what your galaxy can do for you, but what you can do for your galaxy. Find your local GalCop recruiter today!

Ok that was cool... I totally missed that. Ya that was neat how they worked that in... Was a great vid too.

in case you aren't watching the tinfoil thread / discord:

FYI: Listening Post pointing to GCS Sarasvati https://canonn.science/codex/gcs-sarasvati/ was found by CMDR StarfireMMMCCL on discord at Jotunheim 7 A - now we know how we were supposed to find it [up]

Nice decoding there... Where is the research archive ... The listening post says there is one ... And so do the Sarasvati logs... Hmmm i hope i dont have to go back and count blinks again.

Looks like there is at least one more Thunderchild unit to find, probably several. Perhaps they'll provide the archive.
ModishNouns provided a list of likely search systems-only about 1330 of them. Someone put them into a Google sheet document to mark search progress, but when I looked only one had been searched.

I notice that from the ships logs, Unit 01 and Thunderchild is mentioned. I note that in this image, Unit 01 and Thunderchild is mentioned again.

Now, in the ships logs, Unit 01 appears to have some kind of emotional connection from the writer. Julian is typing to Unit 01. I't seems to me "you" is singular in this case, which wouldn't make sense. Why use you as singular, but call something Unit 01 if you're talking to a human? You'd most likely just use their name (unless you're trying to obfuscate things to protect people).

In this new image, what appears to be a computer program is displaying some level of reasoning, and using personal pronouns (albeit it behind the times if it's talking about gathering GalCop together).

Is this AI of some kind? Could the Thunderchild team have been making some kind of long term monitoring AI?

Wasn't the Thunder Child from H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds? It got blown up by martians while trying to protect a refugee rescue fleet of civilian vessels.

Perhaps this is an allusion to that? Rescuing Civilians from aliens, etc.
