Short version:
no big changes to generation ships in Beyond (3.0)
Long version:
The very first thing I did in Beyond (3.0) was to fly to 7 known generation ships (couldn't find the Pleione in the Hez Ur system) and scan them with the improved Data Link Scanner. Yes, they have the new shiny scan effect, but there are no further options to interact with the ships.
Only one thing did change: the Ship Log Uplinks are now numbered, so it's eaysier to find the correct order of the messages.
