Getting around using neutron stars

Is there an easier way of doing this? I haven't been exploring for yonks. I'm heading down below the core

Currently:

Filter map for neutrons
Find the nearest one
Plot a route but then the game wont (I'm not using apply filter to route)
Back into map, re-filter for all star types then plot again
Go into cone, get boost
Faff about finding a star that's at the max jump range
Jump
Back into map, filter for neurons again
etc

Am I missing something?

The Galmap has [EDIT: since 2.4 I believe] a "use neutron boost" option. When it's switched on, the route plotter will take advantage of the boost if doing so will save you jumps.

To check: plot a route somewhere far away and look for segments of your plotted route that are blue.

My issue is use jet cone boost factors white dwarfs as viable despite they are far harder to use and aren't worth it. I'd like an actual neutron only option to be honest.

apply filter to route.

This doesn't work for me? If the nearest neutron is say, 500LY away, I need to use other star types to get there don't I?

If I try and plot using the map filtered for only neutrons it doesn't work

[edit] ignore me, I'm being a mong

Yeah, you might not find a neutron on every jump (and you probably don't want to, viz a viz refuelling). Toggled on though, in my experience, you will find more than your average number of neutron/dwarfs along route.
